Hey Logos Gurus, I have been trying to figure out the Canvas Tool and I am confused. After viewing the "one" video that Faithlife has on this feature, I am still unable to figure out how to use this tool. I will confess that I am not a very creative guy, so that may play into my problem because it seems that the tool will really only be limited by one's imagination. There really aren't many posts in the forums on the tool, nor are there any videos on YouTube discussing the tool (except 2 that are in Spanish). Has anyone taken the time to figure this tool out? Is there anywhere else I can go to learn more about how to use this tool? I appreciate all your insight, thank you in advance.

Hi, Martin. I use Canvas pretty regularly to organize my thinking on a passage or topic, and I regularly share my canvases as public documents for the rest of the Logos community. I'd encourage you to check out some of my and others' canvases. There are over 100 public canvases available in the Public tab of the Docs tools. I find this to be a good way to get ideas on the kinds of canvases you might consider making and to learn how to use the tool.

Let me know if I can help you with anything specific.

Here's one I did last night:

Has anyone taken the time to figure this tool out?

I use the tool to create a Document for each Sermon Series, then create a new TAB for each message in the series. I find the tool is great for outlining the flow of the clauses then the mark-up is good for highlighting parallelisms, contrasts or repeated words.

Thank you both for your response. I wasn't aware that there were public Canvas documents. I will definitely take a look at them. David, I like your idea regarding message series.

Again, it seems that this tool is only limited by the imagination. I was just looking for some ideas to launch from. You've both given me what I was looking for, thank you.

I've been meaning to kick off a Faithlife group for the Logos Canvas tool where users can share canvases, tips, ideas, etc. Feel free to join and follow along there: https://faithlife.com/logos-canvas/activity.

    Will do, thank you!

I tried to join, but there is not an option to. There is a statement that it cannot be joined, only by invite.
