Why are highlights showing up in my notes file???
I created a notebook in notes for Mark 14:53-65 since I'm going to preach a sermon on that and I want to easily find my notes for it without having to take the extra step of creating tags or searching for books or texts. I have that notebook open so I can add notes easily. So far so good.
Now as I'm reading a commentary I highlighted a selection with say yellow background. It ads that selection to my notes file. I don't want that. Previous versions of Logos never behaved that way. In fact there are separate notebooks just for highlights. If I delete that note the colored highlighting goes away.
Can anyone help me get rid of this behavior and have highlights go into the highlights file and not into my working notebook?
Thanks.
Have a great day,
jmac

There are a few things you can do here:
- Change your notebook setting for you highlighting palettes from "Active notebook" to "No notebook" or a particular notebook of your choosing.
- Click the Notes filter to hide the highlights.
- Bulk remove all your highlights out of the notebooks.
Let me know if you'd like help with any of these.

I figured out how to do this and it seems like the best solution. I went and changed all the highlight palettes to use My Highlights notebook which already existed. I had no idea Logos created this setting (when?). Now I wonder how many highlights are cluttering up my notebooks. Thank you so much for making me aware of this!

A similar setting has been available since Logos 4.5, where you could select a Note file. It became a Notebook with Logos 8.

Select Highlights under Type in the Filters sidebar. Then look under Notebook to see which ones have highlights.
