I have read Genesis 3.1 and it reads in KJV as follows. ‘The serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field...’. The KJV reads exact as the Biblical Hebrew. But Logos translation does not have this translation it leaves out ‘the field‘. Which bible is used for the translatioN? Can I choose the KJV bible so it will translate more accurately to the original Biblical  Hebrew and where in the system can we choose?

    In the Settings area of the mobile app there is an option for "Preferred Bible".

    Does this give you what you need?

    Thanks Graham, I have changed in the Preferences the Bible to KJV. Refreshed the Genesis 3.1 in the exegetical Guide, but the translation for the word the field is ”Sade“  is translated as “hay yat” = animals. Does that mean it is connected only to the Lexham Hebrew Bible?

    The footnote for 'wild animal' in the Lexham English Bible says 'literally "animal of the field"', if this is the version you are referring to?

    Second, some expressions in biblical languages are idiomatic, so that a literal translation would be meaningless or would miscommunicate the true meaning. The LEB uses ⌊lower corner⌋ brackets to indicate such expressions, with a literal rendering given in a note.

    I tried to reproduce your problem on my Android tablet. Instead of refreshing the exegetical guide you should just close it. If you open a new exegetical guide directly from the KJV it should show your new preferred Bible.

    As Kevin pointed out the Lexham English Bible does not leave out "the field". Rather the LEB opts for the translation "wild animal" instead of KJV "beast of the field".

    Thanks for your help and yes it worked. Now I have the KJV as the Biblical Hebrew translation. I have taken up a hobby few years ago. I am studying Biblical Hebrew and I am so glad to have this fantastic Logos program. It helps me greatly in studying this old language.  Hence, I am being a bit literal at present

    Thanks for your explanation. I have now changed the  bible with KJV and closed the program and started again. Now I have the KJV translation.
