Author "Tags" Incorrect (EBC revised)

I recently sprang for the revised edition of the Expositor's Bible Commentary series, but I'm disappointed that the author tagging/coding appears to be incorrect in every volume I've checked. The series "editors" appear to be listed as the "authors," and the actual authors of each book commentary do not appear to be included in the tagging at all.

Article citations do appear to list the correct authors, thankfully, but Collections and Filters do not function properly for the revised series when the editors are coded as the "authors," and the actual authors are left out.

By contrast, the original edition of the Logos version of the Expositor's Bible Commentary does have the "authors" properly coded.

Is this a known issue, and is a correction in the works?

We don't have hard and fast rules for adding author's of individual subsections to the author field of a resources's metadata. Our general rule of thumb is "are the author's name on the title page?" If so, they get added. If not, they don't.

As a rule they're added to the citation but that's not exposed in the library.

In this case it would be nice to make them consistent with the earlier series and the number of author's per volume isn't prohibitively long so we'll work on adding them.

What a disappointing response. Users expect accurate information in the resource meta data field. Editors are not authors. The information is available so please update this volumes with the correct author names rather than the arbitrary ones that have been assigned This will be really appreciatef and help out when looking for a particular volume and please reconsider a policy that says it’s acceptable to FL to provide its customers with incorrect metadata. After all customers do pay for these resources so it’s not to big an expectation.

I expect the metadata to correspond to what is published in the book as "Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data". I don't have this resource to check so I went to Amazon:

It looks to me as if Logos reflects the data I would use in most libraries.

Thank you very much, Kyle. I really appreciate the extra effort on this. It seems that the publisher really should have specified the actual authors on the title pages. It is so important for our library collections and filters for the authors to be accurately attributed, so I want to express my gratitude to you and the Faithlife team for getting the "author" corrections into your already jam-packed deliverables queue.
