An SSD is a “solid state drive,” in opposition to a traditional “spinning disc” hard drive. iPads use built in flash storage which is not upgradable. Until recently, external (hardware) storage was not supported on iPad, but this has changed with iPadOS.

That is not what I said.
Until recently, external (hardware) storage was not supported on iPad, but this has changed with iPadOS.

iPads (including ones released in 2018) can use external storage now, as long as they update to iPad OS 13. The linked article discusses that.

Sorry JT even the Barrier of technical language has made it worse. I thought you were mentioning of a new released device. Now my ipad is updated to OS 13.1.2 I bought "SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSDXC Speicherkarte + Adapter bis zu 100 MB/Sek., Class 10, U1, A1" This one fits only to my Labtop. On surface pro 4 it does not fit to insert it with the Adapter it is a bit narrow, Is there adapter which fits to the ipad or I have to buy another ,if so what kind? I hope my quetion is clear.

The only way to connect anything to the iPad is via a "lightning" connector, which is proprietary to Apple. If there is an Apple store nearby, it might be good to swing by and talk to them about it. In the United States, users could also go to a store called "Best Buy." I don't know what other stores you might be able to visit.

Just to clarify, that's not entirely accurate. iPad Pros have USB C.
In context of Logos I don't believe that Logos can access anything on an external storage device. It would be interesting to make that possible, but at present the way Apple does it I don't think that's possible.

I have ordered it. I am expecting to get it tomorrow. I will see if it works, for surface pro 4 I could not find yet adapter for the SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSDXC Speicherkarte + Adapter bis zu 100 MB/Sek., Class 10, U1, A1, FFP .

I could transfer only Photos from my Google drive from the ipad air it is not compatible with ipad 2018.

Do you have two iPads? An iPad Air (undated) and a second iPad from 2018?
What was not compatible? Did the device physically not fit into the iPad 2018 (the port used a different kind of connection)?

Yes, I have both as you have mentioned. I could insert the card safe into both of them. The Ipad air is updated till its limit 12.4.2 I could insert it and it has taken only the Photos.

The ipad 2018 is updated to 13.1. even though I could insert the device physically with the adapter and without the adapter nothing has shown up. This is the reason I have said it is not compatible.
