Updating Library Catalog
Every time I start logos the library says it is updating library catalog even though there were not any new or updated resources. I am on macOS Catalina using Logos 8.8. Has anyone else have this issue?

One cause for updating library catalog message is collection cache refresh. For beta testing, have diagnostic logging enabled => Diagnostic Logging for Mac so Logos.log file has entries for each collection rule that takes a longish time. Thankful for Collection rules for sorting commentaries (updated for Logos 8 Base Packages) so use rules to filter my library followed by tagging commentaries (refreshing tag commentary cache is faster than complex collection rule). Caveat: when commentary collection rule is updated, need to manually filter my library to update my tagging.

It does the same think on my laptop on Catalina and Logos 8.8 as well. Don't know if it has anything to do with Personal Books, but it seem to happen after I created a PB. However, I deleted the book and still got the Catalog message.
Also, I have not changed any collections?

If desire more insight about Catalog message, please close Logos, enable Diagnostic Logging, open Logos, wait for Catalog message to disappear, followed by compressing diagnostic log files then use paper clip to insert zip file in a reply.

I think that logos has always done that. It is just checking for new books and updates. But I could be wrong.

I know what you are talking about.. This is different. After logos starts I get the message in about 30 later seconds and then it stays on for about 60 or so seconds..
