I have a collection called Encyclopedias.  I designate show in parallel resources.  I am in my Bible and want to look up the word 'faith'.  I have prioritized according to Morris' videos.  When I right click on faith, make the selection the word 'faith' in the drop down men, then go to the right side "Look Up" selection select Baker Encyclopedia.  Baker pops up, then I want to look at parallel resources only those resources with the index entry 'Faith' appear.  Zondervan's entry is 'Faith,Faithfulness' so it doesn't show up in the parallel drop down resources.

I would like to see the program make allowances for both entries, 'faith' and 'faith, faithfulness' enabling a complete list of my collection.

Thoughts?

    That wouldn't be possible I don't think since faith and faith,faithfulness are not technically the same headword.

    However, another work-a-round for this would be to search for headwords containing the word faith.

    Example:

    {Headword faith} OR {Headword faith, faithfulness}

    You could also just do a topic search for faith and it will give you all of the resources with that headword and topic.

    {Headword faith} OR {Headword faith, faithfulness}

    Please note this is the whole search string not two separate searches.

    Also one might see what the effect of 'equivalent references' is on the search.

    Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    "Match equivalent references" will only work with datatype searches e.g. <Topic faith>, but that is very different to searching for a topic/article on "faith".

    Thanks for filling in the detail of the search - I was not sure of its range of use. And I'd made some incorrect assumptions about how he was running the search based on the original post.

    Thanks to everyone who responded.  Morris Proctor talk about the right and left keys and they are good to a point but if I am in Baker Encyclopedia looking at the word faith and want to look at what the Zondervan Encyclopedia has to say about Faith.  Left and Right keys won't help me even if they are in a collection.

    I am not a programmer but it seems that with as much power as Logos has it wouldn't be a big deal to do whatever needs to be done so that an entry for "faith" in one reference would know that "faith,faithfulness" would probably be supplying resources for the same search.

    You are right that we can you <Topic faith> but it won't work for right and left arrows and it work work with the new drop down.

    So to day that I can look up faith in all my dictionaries is not correct.

    My thoughts.

    I guess it is because technically in he Zondervan dictionary you are not looking up "faith" but "faith, faithfulness". I understand your point, but from a software point, and a technical point, they are not the same entry.

    They could be treated as alternatives because of the comma, but that usage is not consistent. The article has to be tagged with both faith and faithfulness to be recognised.
