Tagging a reference to another book
I want to tag an argument from one resource to another resource.
In other words. I want a tag to show up in Irenaues' Heresies that explains the grammar of the words, "was seen."
Or, put some kind of referent on, by or over the words, "was seen" to show me that in another resource there is an explanation of those words. So when I come to Against Heresies and come across those two words, I want to see some kind of tag that will show me that in another resource it mentions these words.

I would add a note to the phrase in Irenaeus which references the discussion in Gentry. In the note I would add in a link to the extra place in Gentry (use "Copy by URL").
Then when you hover over the note icon you will see a reference - when you click on the note you can click on the link to go to the discussion.
If any of this doesnt make sense please advise.

In your example you have the word 'discussion' in blue. I'm assuming that's the link to Gentry's argument. But how did you do that?

Ok, I just figured it out. But how do you turn the link address into the word 'discussion'?

"discussion" is the word in your note that is linked to the resource: just as I have done here i.e. select the word, click the chain-link icon in the toolbar and paste the link address.
