inline searches
Help. I've done inline searches before, but sometimes the program responds differently, and I don't do enough of them to remember what to do when it does, if I ever knew.
So I just did a "search all text in all passages for a certain word. It says I have 65 results, but it doesn't show me them. I've done searches where the search term was highlighted and I could jump to the next one easily. Now there is nothing. Software is supposed to be intuitive as much as possible and all the option buttons right there in plain sight, right?
So what do I do?
Thank you

Are you doing a Bible search as opposed to an inline search? Something like below
If you are seeing something like that, try clicking the arrow to the left of Verses and you will get something like this
Clicking on a highlighted result will take you to that place in your Bible
In an inline search you should see something like this:
Clicking on the up / down arrows will help you scroll up and down (and the rate of scroll will depend on whether you have the range (to the left of the up / down arrows) set to "Search result" or something else
If you are seeing something different please post screenshots.

Hi Graham
I don't even know how to get the search options you showed anymore since those last revisions to Logos.
I'm looking at a non-Bible based book. I click on the search icon, and it says: Search all text in all passages for
I type in the word and it says I have 65 results, but then there is nowhere to go after that.
Wait, I see now that the word has been highlighted, but there is no way to go to the next hit. I have to scroll down the text until I find them. What happened to that option where I just click on something and it goes to the next one?
And, no, I don't know how to do screen shots.
Thank you

It sounds like you might have turned off the locator bar for that resource. You can turn that back on in the panel menu:

No, I didn't turn it off, but yes it was off. Why would that option even be there? If I only use it in searches, I would think anyone would want it available.
Problem solved.
Thank you very much.

So I think you are seeing something like the picture below - and you should be able to move to the next hit by using the up / down arrows outlined in red:
If you are not seeing these arrows you don't have the locator bar enabled. This is enabled from the panel menu
or by typing Ctrl-Shift-L / Shift-Cmd-L (Windows / Mac)

Yes, it was off. But why would that option even be there? If the locator bar only shows up with a search, why would somebody turn it off? Would they need that to work with their search results. I certainly didn't turn it off.
But problem solved.
Thank you very much!

Its not just related to search results.
Depending on what value you select in the dropdown menu you can use the arrows to move between books, chapters, verses, highlights
I generally have it disabled as I don't tend to use that mechanism for navigating within resources.

It doesn't only show up in searches. Open various panels and see for yourself! [:)]
Why is the option there? Well, because some people consider it clutter and want as much "text" (book) as possible.

Ah, I see now. I had it opened in another panel and didn't even think about it.
Thank you. I learned something new today.
