Freeing up space on secondary computer

So I have a secondary Macbook Air that I only use "on the road" but it only has about 30gb of space left and its starting to run slow.

My question is: if I didn't download a bunch of resources how many would I have to get rid of before it made a difference? I was going to start with audio and video resources but after these is it worth the trouble?

    Hi Mike,

    If you drill down in the Finder to the Logos Resources folder you can see how much room individual resources take up:

    Note the file location in the bottom of the screenshot.

    Resources with images take up a lot of space. The CTMAG is Christianity Today magazine, so it is full of pictures.

    You can find out what the resources listed in the Finder are by copying the filename (minus the extension) and pasting it into the command bar:

    First up, remove temporary files generated by Mac OS (and other apps), any backups you don't want, and files that haven't been permanently deleted (Recycle Bin in Windows).  That may free several GB of data.

    You can remove your WebCache  (...Logos4/Data/random/WebCache), which could be very large depending on Courses, Videos etc.

    In Logos, be sure that you can remove sufficient resources to get the free space you want e.g if you want an extra 10 GB freed, be sure that your Resources folder is considerably bigger than that (c. 20 GB). Then be careful to only remove resources from Library i.e. right click and "Remove from this device".

    "Biblical Places Maps" is the largest at 404 MB. Then look at type:media-collection, select all the images, videos,audios you don't want, then right click to "Remove...." them. Repeat this with other types of resources e.g. type:lectionary, type:courseware, type:clause (for Syntax Search), etc. If you remove commentaries, be sure to select all resources in the Series. Then restart Logos and check spare space.

    You can easily re-download resources if you made a mistake.

    Apple macOS 10.15 Catalina & 10.14 Mojave include Storage Information. Apple => About This Mac => Storage => Manage

    Manage was helpful for finding two old iPhone backups in iOS Files, which were using 14 GB of space.

    FYI: Clicking Documents for me found many old deletable files in Library => Caches => com.google.SoftwareUpdate => Downloads
