Soteriological concept in the Hebrew Bible or Second Temple lit.
Can anyone suggest some books on the concept of soteriology either in the Hebrew bible or Second temple literature.
Basically what did 'salvation' mean during these times?

Gurtner is excellent, and in-depth. Slow-going (even for me ... ha). You'll find a really interesting 2nd Temple quote, I'll never forget (if you know your Jesus' quotes). It answered a question I had 55 years ago. And the same, my neural net had 45 years later.

Yep, I saw that and found it to be something I'd like to sink my teeth into.
Any thoughts on this one?

Well, hopefully someone else will have positive comments. My own opinion, Paul fights a lot of paper tigers ... just guessing, the jewish diaspora (likely more conservative than the homeland), and a gentile perspective (his audience). Then, the scholars swirling around, with this and that.
I'm a big advocate of reading what Jesus actually said ... without filling in the blanks from later enthusiasts. 'Saved' from what?
