Issue with floating window
Hi all,
In my layout, I have NET Bible left-most tag, next is NKJV. When I pop out NET Bible into a floating window, the title of the adjacent "NKJV" tab changes to "New". When I dock the floating window, it reverts back to the correct title.
Thanks!

Hi Robert - and welcome to the forums
Just to check I understand you correctly. You have a layout that includes two Bibles as below:
If you float the NET Bible the title of the NKJV tab changes to New
I'm double-checking because - as you see - I don't get the same behaviour.
What version of Logos 8 SW are you running and on which platform?

I'm using WIndows where I don't see the issue - hopefully another Mac user will be able to check / advise if they see it

It's Logos use of abbreviation vs full-name. Graham doesn't have a stack of tabs? The algorithm is odd sometimes, when you back down the tabs.

Hi Denise,
What you said makes sense, that it would want to widen the next tab out and use the full name vs abbrev. It just looks really odd because it doesn't actually change the geometry of the tab but it changes the label.
Thanks!

Good spot, Denise!

I get the same on Mac, which is the expected behavior, I would think. With more tabs open, the pane will leverage the abbreviations to identify the resource because, obviously, there isn't enough space in each tab for any of the full names. But when one or more tabs are removed from the pane. Logos takes advantage of the increased real estate in the pane by using the full name (or a portion of the full name) of the resource. This is logical to me, as if I closed down to just one tab, I'd to see New King James.... as opposed to NKJV, This is especially helpful if I am using a Bible where I am not familiar with the title or abbreviation (ie: NCV ?? = New Century Version). Perhaps just preference.
It's not an issue related to the NET tab floating. You'd get the exact same response if you closed the NET tab.

Myke, not proposing to argue. And your point about 'which Bible' would be nice on the Text Comparison tool.
But here, only the popped-tab converts. The spacing difference is minimal, and so the OPR stops studying, to wonder huh? And this goes back to L4. My solution was to re-title the Bibles to avoid the bouncy results.

[Y] That makes sense, especially for consistency's sake.
