I have had Logos Now for a few years but what is it that we are getting by having now and next year?
I am questioning should I renew it?

Three books each month? Two courses each year? An additional discount on Logos 9? 2% credit on what you spend each year? Faithlife TV Plus?
Do you use any of those benefits that might offset the cost?
More importantly, are there resources and/or features that you depend on which you only have temporary access to via the subscription? How much would it cost to buy those books or feature set before your subscription ended?

They key word is always "if". But you don't have to take advantage of them all to make it worth it.
So I still don't get what this logos now or connect thing is. I read that it gives you temporary access to stuff, which i don't want. Does it give you books or courses to keep? Even when you unsubscribe? What kind of additional discounts does it give? I shop at logos a lot, and have an ever expanding library, so I'm just wondering if this is something that would benefit me and would be worth doing.

There used to be a special access for WebApp, now it's free.
They offer Faithlife TV, but the selections are, well... really worse than Disney+. And I don't mean Disney+ is any good way. (not even gonna compare with Netflix or Prime, cuz it's not even close)
What? 25% discount of lexham? You have to spend money first and again! There's a reason they put hardly any lexham resources in L8's BPs, because they want to charge up with this.
What? 3 classic books? I think I spent more time looking what I want to buy rather than actually reading them. Now if its 3 regular books, it would've been a different story. But alas!
Only real benefits is those 2 temporary mobileed videos... for the cost of $150!!!! To justify the cost for $150, Logos need to include the whole MobileEd collections into Faithlife Connect's subscription.

This really seems more subscription than purchase. Unless I mostly wanted the Faithlife TV content, I don't see it at all.
It depends on your subscription level pricing (n) and usage. The best level is grandfathered in at 99.99.

I agree with some of the other comments that the value of LogosNow/FaithLifeConnect seems to have gone down. However, I also wonder if it is because I haven't taken the time to explore it more. I just allowed my subscription to renew, not because I feel it is a good value but because FaithLife has made it clear that they need consistent subscription revenue going forward. I am certain if Logos were started today it would be exclusively subscription rather than ownership. As someone who has invested thousands of dollars in Logos and who uses it every single day, I joyfully pay for my LogosNow subscription and view it as a cost of having this wonderful tool and a protection for the investment I have made. In my opinion, it is just a matter of time before a yearly subscription is required of all users in order to get any updates to the software. I feel it's best to get used to paying it.

If you had Logos Now (LN), which was changed to FaithLife Connect (FC) a couple of years ago, it would have been a good deal. When the switch was originally made, there was a price point that was special for those that had LN, which has been carried over as an auto renew, if you cancel, the price will go up. Originally I was told over the phone that we could keep the Mobile Ed classes, but you only have temporary access to them for 6 months (1 class/half year). I do still see value in that benefit. Other benefits are that we do have temporary access to an additional library (my temporary license is for 88 resources); all of the features of L8 (I already own all of them); access to FaithlifeTV; 3 free "Classic" books on the e-pub site each month; and a 25% (total order) off coupon from the e-pub site (this is the benefit I use the least). Overall, I find value in the FC subscription. I did get early access to L8, which I was able to purchase about 2 months after it came out, but enjoyed most of the features until I was able to make the purchase. If you were grandfathered in, I would continue, but you need to see if the value is there for you. I personally have been able to grow my Puritan Library slowly each month with this & it outweighs the annual cost of my subscription.
Each person's millage will be different. And there will be some people who will never be pleased with subscriptions. To be honest I am traditionally not a fan of subscriptions but I find I benefit from the things outlined by PetahChristan below and so am with the Milkman is saying Heck Ya!
Bruce has hit the nail on the head in what determines your millage.. "if you take advantage of the benefits on offer" and also "you don't have to take benefit of them all to get value. The discount on offer when new major base packages are released is benefit enough for me, the 2% credit on purchases is the cherry on top. While the classic books left for me to choose from is limited and I realistically I don't get to read each of them I appreicate having a broad library to search that does including past as well as current thinking. Some of these classics will appear in footnotes and so having them on hand is useful and other times they are handing when tracing thought on a topic over time. The 25% discount on Lexham is proabably the benefit I least get excited about but strategically used I do still appreciate it all the same.
If you rarely make purchases and don't do upgrades of your library when each version comes out and don't appreciate FL TV for what it is rather then it's probably not for you but for me I find FL Connect much better value than FL Now.

I was fortunate that I purchased LN for several years when it was at a discount (I believe it was $89). So I am still good to go until 2021. Then I will have to decide.
But I am grateful that FL grandfathered people from LN to FL Connect. I don't need a library but like the other benefits.
I liked the Faithlife TV as well. I tried to get my church to subscribe, thinking it has some great material for use in my bible study group, but they come back saying there was another service much better and more in depth. Don't remember the name, but they haven't subscribed to that either.
I didn't know it would go up $50. $150 is a little more than I am willing to pay. I did not think that taking my laptop to class and viewing it was in keeping with the license. I let my FLC subscription expire in September 2019.

Anyone looking for the old benefits (and $99 price) of Logos Now can still sign up for Verbum Now (and access those benefits while using Logos and Logos.com). It's Catholic-branded Logos Now... there's almost no difference between it and Logos Now in terms of what you actually get out of it.

Agree with Mike- this is my last year for Now or Connect whatever the flavor of the year is. Have one more major purchase to us discount, then the features purchase then that's it, no more purchases.
