Search everything not working

It simply doesn't. It only searches a limited subset. This just started. Is anybody else experiencing this, and is there a fix

I'm also seeing this - Logos 8.10 SR1 on Windows 10.

Barry,
I'm not able to reproduce this, can you post a screenshot so I can see what you are seeing?

Here's a screenshow with the Everything search just delivering 10 results
That is the expected behavior. If you want to see all the results, click the link to "Search All Resources".

Thanks Andrew
I was starting to think that was the case.
I just hope Barry wasn’t seeing something different and I’ve just been causing confusion!

Well, all you would see is a screen with search results. I do the search on "everything" or "all resources" and it will come up with "7 resources" or some other extremely small subset of "all resources." I don't often do searches, but when I do, it's usually important for me to see original language words in the entire Perseus collection. I've never had a problem with this before the latest update.

Barry,
Can you please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? I just want to make sure you are not experiencing some other issue.

It doesn't work, and no, it's not the "expected behavior." Before, "everything" and "all resources has yielded hits from "everything" and "all resources" but no longer.

What happens when you click on the link to search All Resources? It is expected that Everything Search will display the first 10 results and then you click on Search All Resources to get further results.

Nothing happens. In previous iterations of Logos, starting with "everything" or "all resources" would list all results, not just the first 10.

Agreed. The developers may state this is expected behaviour because they have changed the code to give the perception of improved performance but all it is doing is creating multiple steps in what used to be a single step report and when I run search everywhere then that is the results I expect everything not an arbitrary subset of results that I am them forced to go and click a button for each section of he report and have to run multiple additional searches to truly search everything. This is not expected behaviour and just deceit a performance perception trick si marketing can say hey look at our improved performance when in reality it now takes longer to do because you have to run additional searches. Another FL compromise that fails to understand what customers actually want from the software.

Agree that it doesn't work the way one would actually expect, and having to run a second search to really search everything is a bit absurd.
There will also be times we may forget that the initial search doesn't include every result, and we may miss out on information in our library.
Logos searches need to be more intuitive, not less intuitive, thanks.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Yet another "expected results" remark that demonstrates that the developers are not users of this application. This is a very dumb move to cause "Search Everything"to return a limited set of results.

Barry,
The change to have the link to search "all resources" is not new, it was made in September 2017 in 7.9, it is noted in the release notes https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_7.9.

This is a bit of 'reverse-stretch'. I'm 'still' on 7.9, so keep that in mind.
1. Everything for 'Tyre' claims .4 sec results (my PC), but you don't get to see those 10 results for a while. Wait, wait, wait. The micro-second performance is somewhere deep in their code and totally irrelevant.
2. After waiting, waiting, waiting, you get the top-3 for your Bible, the top-10 for the library, 7 for media, etc You'll need to do new searches for each. More wait, wait since 3 Bible just gets you to 2 Samuel, etc
3. The everything search is on my opening window, the subsequent searches are dumped on later windows. It's not like you add more results to the everything search. And the ordering is different.
So, basically you've under-criticized Everything.

I just thought I would mention, in case anyone isn’t aware, that we can do an All Resource search the first time and avoid the Everything search. The search panel will even remember your last chosen search and open to that search again so that we never have to be bothered with the Everything search.
Barry, if your search in All Resources isn't providing the maximum of 100 results (depending on your search term, of course) then there is likely a problem with your installation.
