Is there a way to do a word count in a resource?
mm.
Yes. The concordance tool will work for this
Can a word count be done in a single chapter only?
in a group of chapters? in all chapters excluding biographies and OR indexes?
I know of no way to do this in resources other than bibles with the concordance tool
Thanks Fred. One more question.
The reason I'm asking is I just downloaded Craig Koester's (pre-pub) Revelation and the End of All Things, second edition and I'd like to see all the places he made either additions or deletions to his second ed.
So is there a way to do that? Do a comparison between the two and find the changes?
Export to word and let it do it for you...
Thanks NB. But if I export, doesn't Word just give me the difference in word count and different words used? Much like the concordance tool does. I guess there's no way to do a side by side between the two other than opening both editions and doing it that way.

Try using this site: https://www.diffchecker.com
I was able to easily compare two chapters side by side for differences.
Hey? That's a pretty cool tool. Just using the online freebie showed exactly what I was looking for.
Not sure if I'd buy it, but if I were to do a lot of comparing texts, that would be a great app to have.
Thanks!

There's functionality in the Review tab of Word, called Compare Versions which produces a document which looks like you had track changes employed when producing the updated version: what was deleted, what was added (it will not be detecting things that were just moved within the document)
