iPhone v1.3.0 App release - release notes?
I just downloaded and installed v1.3.0 of the iPhone App on my iPod Touch. Sure looks like some nice enhancements.
If Dave Dunkin, or another member of the Logos iPhone App team, is lurking through these postings, it would be great to get some release notes so that we are aware of all the new features. When I found the update on iTunes, it provided a brief update of the new release - however, now that I've installed it, I can not get the release specific note that include a very high level list of new features.
I believe I recall reading that there was some improved offline support for bible references ... of course, I am eager to have offline access to footnotes and references in the ESV text ...
Thanks for the update ... and please post some detailed release notes so I can appreciate all the improvements.

Cannot believe I missed some of these Dave. Of course I was just going from the emails.
It is a very good update. No reason not to get it.

Hi Dave,
How does one join the iPhone beta?
Cheers, Brent

The beta is by invitation. We are very limited on the number of devices we can provision for development builds, so the beta group is very small.

I have to say, I have quite a few applications on my Iphone. Some of them will change orientation when I turn the phone and others simply will not. This is the FIRST application I have even seen that will not only adjust the orientation, but it also gives you the option of locking the orientation. And it gives you a little lock symbol at the bottom of the screen when you turn your phone, so you can at that moment decide to either lock the orientation, or unlock it if it is already locked. You don't have to go to preferences to change it.
Maybe there are other apps out there with this feature, but this is the first that I have seen. Great job!

ONE happy camper, Dave.
I love the devotionals being on the intro page. Have not checked out the other stuff yet, but would like to suggest that the news items permit only the unread to show, or perhaps delete them after a day or two.

[quote]Share via email/Facebook/Twitter from any book
One more comment: this appears to only share the fact that I was in [book title] on the iPhone and gives a reference to the Logos website which talks about iPhone.
Is this supposed to permit us to send a brief excerpt to a friend, facebook, etc? That is what I was thinking it was.
For example, my daughter who is a high school teacher at a Christian school, had a question for which I found the answer. I wanted to highlight it, clip and send it to her. Same way as in L4.
Can no do???

I don't want to be a downer on this issue, but I agree with Dan. If all we are able to Share in Facebook or email is that we are reading a particular book and then it gives a link back to Logos.com's Iphone page, this is nothing more than an advertisement for Logos Iphone and the particular book we are reading when we post. It is not really helpful at all.

I think at present it's designed for sharing Bible verses. As you say, it doesn't really work for anything else.
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

Agreed, I have other applications that have the option to lock the orientation, but Logos has done a great job of implementing this feature. I had been hoping for this feature and Logos found a way to do it that surpassed my thoughts. Thank you so much. It is now much easier to read in bed or other positions where the iPod may get tilted.
Great new feature! Thank you.

What does this mean? I have tried entering basic text "nicnt" or "john" into the search area at the top of the library and it still froze my ipod on each key stroke and didn't search.
What is a "filter in the library view"?
Thank you,
Rob

Devotionals on home page
So Dave, when will we be able to control the types of information that shows up on our home page. And there any published road map for where the iPhone app is headed?
