Why is my Logos Mac still at 8.9 SR-1 when it has no problem updating resources?
I tried Update Now many times to no avail but I see resources being updated. I close and re-open Logos on my MacBook Pro also has no effect.
Please help!

Download the installer from here: https://www.logos.com/install and install Logos manually.
EDIT: Resources and Software Engine updates are two different "mechanisms." Apparently the software update got "stuck" in your case. After installing Logos manually, it should update normally.

I was hesitant to do that at first because of over 10k resources. I finally did and it worked. Thanks.

Very good!
There's no danger in reinstalling the app itself because your data is stored in another place: ~/Library/Application Support/Logos4. As long as you don't delete the Logos4 folder, you'll be fine.
