Okay, laugh at the title's attempt to be multi-cultural and speak both Catholic and evangelical dialects.

I would like some minor modifications of the Sermon editor in order to enhance its usability in the church education arena.

  • Allow the document to be named "Lesson" rather than "Sermon" - with Lessons assumed to not be published but perhaps shared
  • Modify groups options to reflect something more like: Sunday School, Inquirers, Catechesis, Mystagogia, Faith formation, Sacrament preparation, Adult Bible study, parish book club . . .
  • Modify Key Passages to support links to any resources for example Confirmation preparation for a Lutheran may reference Luther's Larger Catechism ...
  • If practical, make a passage guide section that contains the Bible Study Guide materials esp. questions and allow the questions to be copied to the Lesson Editor (paralleling a bit the copy sermon outline functions)
  • Make a training video showing the editor being used for lessons rather than sermons - ideally in two cases: one in which the class has a study guide or similar resource and one in which everything is up to the instructor. Note: in many settings this means more emphasis on handouts and less on visuals.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
