Hi Olvia, that is really neat you have that, where did you get it? I have a non-profit Museum & Library website (https://www.LibraryoftheBible.org) and am working on an Ethiopian exhibit. In my research, I was thrilled to run across your post. I don't mean to be forward, but might you be interested in possibly donating or selling your manuscript? You can click on my account name and get my email and phone number if so. Regardless thanks for sare ing that, very interesting.
Looks like Amharic text, all right. Perhaps Tes Ghebreab will chime in.
Thank you
Yes it is Ge'ez the old Ethiopian language which includes Eritreans as well. It is the prayer to Mary the mother of our Jesus Christ in the way of the Orthodox religion. The orthodox bible has 80 books. It is out of the extra books they have these kind of prayers.
There is no change on the Alphabets, the Amharic ( Ethiopian language ) Tygrigna the official Eritrean language which is my mother language plus Tigre the language of north east and west Eritrea.
Blessings in Christ.
Great help, Thank you very very much!
All the best to you
Could you possibly know how old this is?
Example of Geʽez taken from a 15th-century Ethiopian Coptic prayer book.
