Okay I have a really off the wall question. Where can I get a list of the file names for each book in my library such as you have in the left column?
Thanks!

Okay I have a really off the wall question. Where can I get a list of the file names for each book in my library such as you have in the left column?
If you open a book in Logos and click its info icon, you'll find the file name down at the bottom of the info panel.
You can see a list of all your filenames in your Resources folder:
- In Vista and Windows 7, it's C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\unique-identifier\ResourceManager\Resources
- In XP, it's C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\... [the rest will be the same as above from Logos4 on]
I don't believe there's any way to see a list of all filenames along with the rest of that table (Resource-id, Resource Version, Resource Title)
It has been requested that Logos add columns to the Library in Grid View to show Filename and Resource ID, but I don't know if or when that might be coming.

Thanks for the info Rosie.
Sometimes I see the file name and wonder which book it is.
I though if I could get a list it would help me.
Since it has been requested I am sure it is just a matter of time before they do it.
Thanks for your help.0 -

If it's a filename of a resource you have, you can go into Logos and type LLS:filename in the command bar (no spaces around the colon) and it will open the book.

I got a small one... just 215.5 MB! I wonder how long the reindex will take..... [;)]

Isn't there a way to print out a biblio report now with 4.0b? I thought I remembered that but I can't find it. Melissa's first post has filenames plus resrouce-id, version, and resource title, how is that done?

I don't believe Melissa's report was generated from within Logos. You can generate a bibliographic report from the tile menu of collections (It should honor your style choice in the program settings).

I'm sure they have internal databases that include all that info in them.
Yes, if you go into a Toos > Collections, there is now a new command on the panel dropdown menu, "Export to bibliography..."
It doesn't include the filename, version, and resource ID info, though. Just a standard bibliography entry.
Mark Barnes' bibliographic report tool might give more, I can't remember: http://www.4-14.org.uk/off-topic/logos4-bibliographic-report

So that's what happened today in Logos 4 Mac! [:O]
Melissa,
Thanks for the list it is really helpful. It would be great if this kind of cross-platform information could be posted in the Logos 4 Mac forum as well in Logos 4, as I only saw it by chance when someone responded to your post and I, curious about the 200+ MB download that I got today, picked it up in the recently posted section of the forums.
Pretty please! [:-*]

Thanks for posting to Logos 4 Mac, before my message. Now I'm covered in confusion. [:S]
That'll teach me to check in my own forum first.!

If it's a filename of a resource you have, you can go into Logos and type LLS:filename in the command bar (no spaces around the colon) and it will open the book.
Actually if you just type the file name in the command box, a drop-down 'help list' will appear and show the name of the resource under "Resources" look for "Open [resource title]."
For example, before this thread, I downloaded around 200MB and looked in my resource directory and wondered what they were. So I just typed the file name (e.g. almeida) in the command bar and saw this:

Richard, I was going to say that the fact that example worked for you was just a coincidence. The filename (almeida) happened to also be part of the Title. I used to think the LLS: was required for filenames, but you've proved me wrong. I just tried it with one of my gobbledygook filenames which is an abbreviation for a title (SPRTEXRCISES) and it worked! I could have sworn it didn't used to. I don't know when they changed this.

I don't know when they changed it either. I'd like to claim that I had inside information, but I just forgot about the LLS: part and it worked. When I saw your post, I realized that the LLS: wasn't necessary.
(BTW, the resource will open after typing the file name, just by pressing the Enter key.)

Finally, the metadata corrections that I have been requesting have been implemented. And the new iPhone app allowed me to delete my old reading plans. Logos killed two big birds with one stone. Very nice! Now I only need the Encyclopedia of Christianity needs to be properly tagged and the use of keywords in word searches enabled.

So are these updates continuously eating up my hard drive space? It seems that it's 38 mb here....380 mb there.....in time it adds up. Do I need to worry about having 50 gb of hard drive space for my LOGOS install in a few months?

If they are an update they will replace what you have, so the overall disk space gain would be negligible (except in the case of adding resources, completing resources that are still works in progress, etc.).
If we're taking a program update, there will probably be some added space as new functionality is added. But this shouldn't be much.
If you purchase books, or upgrade your collection there will obviously be a lot of new space required.

Cool....figured as much...I know that Windows will keep the patch files around even after updating...just curious if LOGOS would do the same.
