Hi milkman. I thought I would go ahead and purchase the Handbook. Sure glad I did.
Let me tel you why. First of all the rationale for doing archelogy to support biblical claims is fair, honest and takes into consideration both minimalist and maximalist arguments.
It lays out a brief yet detailed history of biblical archeology. It sets forth the limitations of archaeology and the value of it.
If you're a teacher or preacher it even gives you a methodology for using archeology in/for biblical teaching.
Well that's about how far I've read today - 25 pages.
