Are you saying the documents are not the original documents or are you saying they are totally fake in that they have never existed (there are not even an optional document?  If you are they are not the original document, I totally agree with you. Even the original dead sea scrolls are not displayed. Â
I'd think if the museum uses the words forgeries and misled, that'd be a clue.
But it illustrates (1) the healthy trade and (2) the expertise. Soon, banks and businesses will have the same problem ... who are they talking to.
The article says this doesn’t involve the documents in Israel (if I understood your question correctly). Based on what I’m seeing, I guess the museum thought they had additional scrolls.
Correct- The Scrolls in Israel are authentic. The ones in DC are no where near it and it shows. Sidnie Crawford did a very nice summary recently on Academia.edu
