Adding 2nd external monitor

What do I need to consider about adding a 2nd external monitor to my Dell Inspiron 17 laptop?
i5; 256 GB SSD; Device Manager shows both 2.30 GHz and 2.40 GHz; RAM 12.0 GB; Display adapter Intel (R) HD Graphics 520.
I'm running Windows 10 and Logos 8.12.
My current external monitor is a Dell E2214H (Analog).
If further information is needed, where do I find it?

Your computer is way newer than mine. I had to have a graphics card and a VSA splitter. Yours may be simpler.

Thanks, Michael. I have wondered about a graphics card. I expected I'd need a splitter. Shalom

Maybe nothing needed at all. I'm running Logos 8 on Win 10 using an Acer Aspire F15 which also has an i5 processor. According to the sticker, it has a NVIDIA Geforce 940MX graphics card, the display settings say that it uses Intel HD Graphics 620.
My usual external monitor is a 24" Samsung SyncMaster, attached via the analog VGA. Seeing your thread I remembered that I have an Asus APTEK 15" external monitor lying around, to be attached via USB. I plugged it in and bingo, 2nd external monitor was running, just so!
(Note that the same strategy did not really work with my other notebook, a Lenovo Thinkpad, also running on i5 processor and using an Intel UHD Graphics 620, which has no VGA connector and where the first external monitor is plugged in via the HDMI - the USB monitor works but turns black intermittently).
What I'm saying is that it may be possible that your system can run two external monitors natively, when you attach them through different connections- at least it deserves trying.
Have joy in the Lord!

NB, Many thanks for your encouraging report.

From reading the specs on your laptop, just give it a try. It sounds like you probably have more than one video output option on that machine, so find/borrow/thrift shop a second one to see if it'll work. That's my $0.02

Thank you, Jonathan. I have ordered a Dell 22 Monitor - E2216HV to pair with my much older Dell E2214. I know it's small but I like symmetry[:D] The salesman said I should have a docking station and he discounted a Dell Docking Station - USB 3.0 (D3100). But the monitor isn't due to be delivered until May 11th!

That's actually a great idea..the docking station. They make things much easier, being that they are plug-and-play, and grab-and-go, being that the transition from using your laptop on the go to using it at your workspace with your multiple monitors is much easier. No clunky having to plug/unplug extra wires, etc. You'll be happy with your setup.
