ESV Literary Study Bible???

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on this.  It releases next week and I noticed Ryken has his name on it (also contributed the Lexham Context Commentary).  I wonder if there will be overlap?  This one covers the entire Bible whereas the LCC is only NT at the moment.  I know they have different focuses. 

Looking at the sample pages, it doesn't look very interesting but I've been wrong before!

    I think "study Bible" is the wrong title. I bought the Bible in hardback a number of years ago and sold it when I downsized house. It contains basic introductions to chapters if I recall correctly, but I don't recall any study notes you'd expect in a normal Study Bible.

    Thanks Paul.  I don't want to put down the resource but I'm struggling to find a good use for it.  As you mention, it has introductions and a blurb before each chapter.  Oh well.  I'm sure someone is looking forward to it.

    Now if we could just get the Life Application Study Bible...

    I know for a fact that there is overlapping, i.e. the very same material, in the ESV Literary Study Bible Notes and Literary Introductions to the Books of the Bible. However, even though I own LIBB, I still pre-ordered the Notes because it has specific remarks about the text.

    I would suggest you review ESV LSB at Amazon and the Look Inside feature to see for yourself. I liked the comments I saw interspersed in stories throughout Genesis.

    All in all, not quite sure if its worth $20, but I love literary insights into the Bible.
