Annoying interface issue with Library
I watched the recent Morris Proctor's "Out of Sight and Out of Mind Books" and it was absolutely fantastic! From what I learned there, I created a collection and with a rule for Monographs from favorite authors that I know I will want to include. I have 1500 or so monograph books and so I opened a library pane and my new collection pane side-by-side to help me add new books to it.
The problem is after scrolling down on the long list of Library entries the library pane jumps back to the top when I click on the Collection pane to add a new entry to my rule. I then have to scroll back down through the very long list in the library pane to find where I left off in my search for new treasures to add to my new "Out of Sight and Out of Mind Books" collection. Super, super annoying! Please fix this so the all panes (including the Library) keep their place when clicking on other panes and then clicking back on them!

I can only offer you a work around. What if you made selections and then tagged all of them at once with a name such as FavMonographs in the Library. If you then require a collection open the collection and use Mytag:FavMonographs.
The other alternative is to open the library and do the following in the search box:
This one is for Pink, but there are only a few to deal with. You just go author by author and do the drag and drop per MP Seminar.
I agree with your post that it is annoying behavior, just offering some alternatives.
Hope it helps.

Actually that is a very helpful idea and will help with single volumes I want to add to the collection, but whose author I do not want to add to my catch all rule. Thanks!
