Search syntax in "Phrases" section of Bible Word Study
I'm seeing unexpected results (too few hits or no hits at all) from the searches executed within the "Phrases" section of the Bible Word Study guide. See this picture for details:

Which Bible are you searching in?
Ensure you are using a Greek text and not an English translation.

Hmm, it worked when i changed it to NA28. I thought for sure it would work fine in any translation with a reverse-interlinear. Just before executing that search, i had tried the following in the ESV:
<Lemma ~ lbs/el/δικαιοσύνη> WITHIN 2 WORDS <Person God>
And i received results i expected. But now that you mentioned that, i tried the same search in the SBLGNT & NA28 and got more hits. Can you help me understand why the reverse-interlinear bibles don't return the same or very similar hits?

I'm assuming it's because word-order differences, but i thought the reverse-interlinear translations accounted for that. I always see numbers for word order in the bottom pane.

Andrew's comment at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/168863/976276.aspx#976276 is helpful - even though it doesn't clarify exactly why we are getting the results you mention.
I think the strong message is that for proximity searching, using original language texts is the much better option.

Thanks for the speedy responses! I guess it makes sense, too. If, for example, I were to do a proximity search for 2 English words, I wouldn’t want the Greek interfering, and vice versa. I suppose (though I haven’t tried) you could even mix and match Greek and English in a proximity search. I’ll assume English word order takes priority for English translations and ditto with any other language. Thanks again!
