Well, to be imperfectly honest, when I saw the thread title, I thought 'DAL', and a reverse trick. So, I went ahead and fell for it. And signed up ... thanks! Who knew?

What are the odds this may appear in an L9 base package?
It worked out well for pre-orders that were also included in L8 base packages, and that same thing might happen...
But I wouldn’t hold off on pre-ordering them, on the off-chance that they might get bundled.
I also think it’s important to show support for these pre-pubs early, and get them into production as soon as possible, with the hope that more Carta Jerusalem titles will make their way into the Logos ecosystem.

Must be a test to gauge actual interest? If you count the actual number of people in the old carta thread, there aren’t that many people interested, only a handful. Hopefully it’ll work out and if the prices stay cheap, I might duplicate all in Logos.

I just want it to be successful for everyone, authors, publisher, producers, and consumers.
(I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. Does FL start production immediately, hoping they will get enough pre-orders to cover their costs? Does our interest determine if other Carta Jerusalem titles become pre-pubs, or start off as pre-orders?)

Yahoo! Ordered both immediately! I too thought it was another ruse, but thought I would just "check it out" and lo and behold, it's for real!!!! Praise God indeed that Carta is finally coming to Logos! We definitely need maps and graphics that they have!

This is where FL fails miserably! This deserved a blog post and a front home page add, yet, nothing! Hopefully, they’ll learn from way too many past mistakes and advertise this properly.

EDIT: The reason for my question is that this atlas does not appear in Carta's catalog and is from an author different than the Bible atlases that Carta publishes. As far as I can tell, here is the most recent Carta atlas (it seems much larger in content) and it was published in 2011. I'm confused on what we would be getting in such an abbreviated resource given that the two Holman resources I mentioned have 297 pp. and 176 pp. respectively.
Carta apparently publishes sixteen different resources with Atlas in their title. The pre-order you’re asking about really is one of their atlases.

I can’t specifically address how it compares to the Holman resources you mentioned, but merely reflecting on page count, Carta’s is 92 pages devoted to Jerusalem, while the ones you mention are 176 or 297 pages about the biblical world in general?

Yes, biblical world in general to include Jerusalem. (I think the table of contents for those resources is viewable in the Logos/Verbum catalog.)
The competition has them way more expensive for some reason, so you might want to preorder NOW in case there was a mistake on the price and it gets corrected any split second from now. I have the same Carta Jerusalem in the competition and it looks the same, but again, the competition is more expensive. Same goes for the one on Jerusalem in the times of Nehemiah, which I also own. The competition has it more expensive than Logos’s prepub and regular price. Just an observation in case the prices change.

I have those Holman atlases and can tell you they are very, very good.
I also ordered the Carta Atlases and am hoping hoping hoping the graphics will be good.

Yes, I have them also and they are good. The Holman Bible Atlas has a couple of renditions of the map you see in the second sample page from the Carta resource in the catalog. It makes me wonder how much overlap there is.

I'm not trying to discourage anyone from getting the Carta resource. It seems that I won't be able to know the content differences at this point in time.

I hope that this is just the beginning of the offerings, and that Faithlife will begin to carry ALL the Carta resources (and offer them in a package). I'm especially hopeful to have the volumes by two brilliant scholars that are friends of mine, R. Steve Notley and Jeffrey Garcia. Great men of God with brilliant minds who have been instrumental in the El Araj / Bethsaida excavation around the Galilee.

Some years ago I got impatient and bought the paper version of Sacred Bridge. It functions like an additional screen, thus I may not order the Logos version yet.
Gold package, and original language material and ancient text material, SIL and UBS books, discourse Hebrew OT and Greek NT. PC with Windows 11

Well, I'd have trouble between Raging Torrent and Sacred Bridge as my all-time favorite geo-history. I just ordered SB, if only because I really do need a good atlas for Logos to look stuff up in. I have the also-rans ... Holman, etc

I applaud the roll out of Carta. But, stupid question, but I honestly don't know; will Carta have the functionality it requires to optimally perform in the Logos environment?

Are you asking about tagging, and Carta results appearing in searches and guides, or something else?My question is general, but I was thinking more on the graphical side. Zoom in and out capability. Graphics when you import to presentations and the likes. I would expect that tagging would be optimal in keeping with Logos custom.

I was using my Carta collection and thought about it some more and decided it’s not worth duplicating. Not even for “support” since the volumes are already in production. My collection serves its purpose very well and looks awesome in my other Bible software that there is no need to duplicate them. I will say this, though: If you don’t have Carta, get it, since the quality of their resources is top notch! Great material!

That’s your choice, however support isn’t just about getting these titles into Logos, it’s about getting other Carta resources into Logos (such as the Understanding series).
