Logos Bible Software 4 Indexer Problem

Hi to all,

Recently my Logos 4 gives me the following problem. On this forum I tried to find a answer/solution, but what I found (Rebuild Index Command and remove BibleIndex and LibraryIndex on a obscure Windows place) did not help me yet.

As soon as I start Logos 4, almost immediately WinXP gives me a fault warning 6153.Logos4Indexer.tiff. Microsoft wants me to send a report, in order that they can improve the Indexer (I bet they can't). But then quits the program.

3443.Logos4Crash.txt

2072.Logos4IndexerCrash.txt

This continues to happen. Start, re-start Logos 4, MS WinXP (SP3) which is running on Parallels Desktop 5 on Mac OS X (10.5.8). Until now this setup worked flawlessly. Is there someone, who can give me some advice (or direct to a relevant post)?

Btw, I just caught a snake, preventing it from attacking our dog (who is young and extremely curious…). Tomorrow morning we'll release it in the forest. Scary, though.

Hi Dave,

Thanks a lot, I didn't saw this one jet. Tried to follow these advices, but —until now— not so successful. I even try not only to repair, but also to install the program. To me it is unclear what the program does, when I right-click and click n repair. it gives just a short message about that the repair only applies to installed items???).

So, after then I try to Install with logos4.msi, but then I got the message that there is a newer version of the program (due to "updates" I guess).

To add: as soon as I startup WinXP the indexer is also started, but immediately quit due to this problem.

At the present moment Logos 4 does not start-up at all. Within seconds I get the infamous MS XP application fault message.

I'm happy that Libronix (L3) is still working, but does anyone have a clou, what I can do now?

This problem should be fixed in 4.0b SR-1. Since you can't start Logos 4 to get the update, please install it directly from http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/Logos4Setup.exe.

Just tried to use the installer, but this was the message I received: 4786.Logos4InstallerFault.tiff. Then the installer, unfortunately, quits [:(]. I use Java 6 Update 18 (build 1.6.0_18-b07) the latest there is. How to proceed now [8-)] ?

Delete everything in the folder \Logos4\Data\{random}\UpdateManager\Installers. Also rename Logos4.msi (to logos4.msi.old) in \Logos4\Install\Installers (your installation appears to be at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documenten\ so this msi will be in the default path C:\Documents and Settings\Eigenaar\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4). Enable logging http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging and try again.

It took me a while to get this running, but finally this solved my question. Many thanks for your (and the others) support.

But today I received the Original Language Library DVD and tried to install it. Unfortunately the installation did not take place. If possible look into the question of mine in a new tread: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/14590/111777.aspx#111777
