Since the Study Quran is very high up on the book suggestions list, I thought I'd share what I just found:

Probably much better than the Study Quran, and for $38 practically a steal. The preorder price elsewhere is around $60 to $100.
Thank you, Jan!
Yes, thanks
I'd love to see the library of Qumran with Christian commentary
I’ve been after something like this for some time. Thanks for flagging, Jan! Though, i should point out that like Christianity, Islam is not monolithic in its interpretation of the Quran so, as great as this resource looks to be, it is probably best read in conversation with some Muslims living locally to the reader. Neither can the former replace the latter. Those caveats aside, I’m looking forward to digging into this When it comes out.
Yes, please! I’d settle for an edited reader that simply comments in on the most significant documents.

Thanks Jan - this is something I'd missed - and something I've now pre-ordered
This is something I'd like to see a review or two of by Muslim scholars, but I imagine that won't happen at least until it's published.
I took the class related to this book with Dr. Nickel and it should be a great work. He is a well-balanced scholar with a thorough understanding of Islam. Perhaps Logos can get his Brill published dissertation at a reasonable price as well: Narratives of Tampering in the Earliest Commentaries on the Qur'an.
Ships 4/28. Anyone seen any good reviews for it?
I’m trying to figure out what it means by that it is respectful to Muslims. Will it defend their views or try to refute them?
I've seen a Facebook comment by Al Fadi that he's just received his copy and is looking at the structure and content now. He already said that the author is in no way endorsing the Quran. I suspect we'll be able to see Al's review soon.
So will this be the Qur’an + commentary? Or will it be like some of the Study Bibles where FL publishes the commentary but not the text?
The ideal format would be as two separate resources. But let's wait and be surprised how FL ships it. Since the only Quran translations that FL currently offers are quite dated and difficult to read, it'd be quite important to include the actual Quran text as well. I don't know which translation that is, but judging frrom the sample pages at Zondervan it's a lot more readable.
Edit: the Quran text is a scholarly translation by Arthur Droge.

Nope. I'm still hoping for a Muslim's review of it. I would also be interested in scholarly reviews by people whose <i>Christian</i> theology differs significantly from the author's.
I've been reading some of the modern research about the origin of Islam. Some suggest that Quran is originally a Syrian church lectionary which was transcribed from the Aramaic script to the Arabic script.
I look forward to reading this book, I've pre-ordered it long time ago.
763 pages of commentary for the entire Qu’ran seems like it won’t go too much indepth. It looks interesting, though, so I preordered it.

This looks interesting, though I am also looking forward to scholarly review. And while I have put in my order for it, I do hope that it does not draw attention from the much larger and, from what I can tell, far more in depth, commentary of The Study Quran, which has unfortunately not yet made its way to pre-order.
One can see page previews at this link.
Interesting, but unfortunately the sample doesn’t let us see the commentary. Just the introduction
That's why I posted a link to the Zondervan preview before.
