Sluggish Highlights
When I take a note or highlight a text, it can sometimes take up to 30 seconds or longer for the change to take effect. I recently reinstalled Logos and it did not fix the problem. I've attached my most recent log on the issue.
Logos 8.12.0.0017
MacOS 10.15.4

I am not an expert at reading logs. While we wait for a techie to pop in, can you tell me what you layout looks like? What happens when you have a very basic layout (only a couple resources open, none linked)? What happens when you highlight in a brand new, never been highlighted resource?

I see 17s after applying one note to applying the next note, but does that mean you applied the second note immediately after the first note took effect?
In between were several messages relating to Notes Tool taking a long time to execute commands e.g.
SQLite Profile | 508ms in notestool.db for: insert into MatchingNotes select n.NoteId from Notes n where n.IsDeleted = 0 and n.IsSyncing = 0..
But you should refer this to Customer Support for a more complete diagnosis.

The layout I was using was fairly large. You can see it below. Using a smaller layout does not make a difference. I'll try some of your suggestions like confirming that no resources are linked and using a never before highlighted resource. Might take me a week or so to figure it out since the highlights are not always delayed...so it's hard to tell for sure if a certain behavior fixes the problem.

Hmmm...I'm not sure. The logs don't tell you how long between pressing the highlight button and when it takes effect?

Just sent them an email.

Here's one additional piece of information that I just remembered. The delay affects both notes and highlights. One way to eliminate the delay on the notes is to close all open notes files. Then, when I select text and click "Add Note" it instantly populates a note document. But if the note document is already open, it takes a significant amount of time.

The log shows that the Add Note command is activated fairly quickly, but not when it takes affect. So the best way is to start a new note immediately after the first has taken effect. The activity, if any, in between may help diagnose the issue.

The many "SQLite Profile | 508ms in notestool.db for: insert into MatchingNotes..." messages would seem to confirm the delay with "open notes files" (plural). How many, though? Your last statement indicates a single "note document".

I usually only have one note file open at a time. Sometimes two but no more than that.

In case anyone is interested, here's a screen recording showing the delay. The delay in this video is pretty average...though there are times when it can be even longer.
