Suddenly, my highlights and note indicators no longer display on my iPhone. To me, this is a very stressful situation. It is important to have confidence that my notes and highlights are preserved, will not disappear, and will be available consistently on all my devices. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I sincerely hope FaithLife will devote the attention and resources necessary to resolve this problem.

Do you mean that are not present in the Notes Tool or that they don’t display in resources?

If the latter, please check the ”display notes / highlights” toggle in View Settings on the app (screenshot from iPad)

They are present in the Notes Tool, but they do not display in resources. I checked the setting you mentioned, and it is definitely toggled ON:

Is this problem present in all resources or just some?

And if not already downloaded, try downloading one of the resources where you are seeing this.

There used to be a limitation in that highlights were only displayed for downloaded resources. That was removed some time ago but I wonder if there is some aspect of that involved here.

So, this morning, I opened the mobile app, and it is on my usual NKJV panel, which is also the resource containing most of my highlights, and still no display of highlights. I then tapped the Library icon to confirm that I had already downloaded the NKJV resource, which I indeed had. I then switched back to the NKJV panel, and there the highlights were!

I do not know if simply opening the Library cleared the log jam, or if the app had quickly downloaded and applied an update in the background, or ??? Any ideas? Whatever the case, I am ecstatic to see my highlights and note indicators again!

I'm glad it is working again but I'm afraid I can't explain why it wasn't earlier or why it is now!

In any case, I appreciate the help. If switching to the Library cleared the log jam, I may never have done it if it weren't for our conversation. Thank you.

We have recently updated The New King James Version. This means that the highlights for this resource have to update as well.  Some mobile users have reported trouble accessing their highlights as a result, sometimes extending over a considerable amount of time.  The problem should simply fix itself once the updating process has finished.  Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

It is, at least, nice to know there is a logical explanation behind the problem, thank you. It seems to me that some notification in the app would be in order when rolling out resource updates.

I was counting on my iPhone, as usual, this past weekend for possible highlights and notes regarding texts covered. As it turns out, I missed accessing some information that would have been helpful. Had I known, I could have gone to the trouble to bring and use my laptop, where, evidently, the problem never occurred.
