Check out L8 Base Package Upgrades

I'm not sure if you are like me but I initially passed even looking at the current deals of 30% off Logos 8 Base Packages. But then, just for fun, I decided to check out some of the denominational packages to see what upgrades might cost. I was pleasantly surprised at what I found and ended up getting Reformed Bronze and then Reformed Silver. The total of the two upgrades for me was only $11.78. Included in this were 6 commentaries one of which listed for $93 by itself.
By the way, if you choose multiple packages, be sure not to purchase them one at a time as the overall discount might be even better as it was for me as it was less expensive for me to purchase Bronze first and then Silver afterwards.

I'm confused. You say not to buy them one at a time, but then sat that it was cheaper to do so? I am probably miss-reading, but did you make one or two purchases?
Thanks,

If I hadn’t just replaced my laptop, I’d consider this. With the discount, buying all the Bronze tier would be about the same price point as buying all the starter sets last time.
Depending on how long the sale runs, I might get Orthodox Platinum, as dynamically it costs less than buying the remaining Fathers of the Church volume sets dynamically. (I’d prefer Verbum Diamond, but that’s not happening right now).

Alas, the fluctuating exchange rate to CAD means this sale has come--or at least begun--at a relatively bad time for us Canucks.

Bruce was pointing out that you can save by purchasing the lower tiers in order (e.g., Starter, then Bronze, then Silver) rather than directly purchasing Silver.
It works out that way because the discount on Starter is slightly better than Bronze, and the discount on Bronze is slightly better than Silver.

Sorry Nord. PetahChristian put it much better than I did. Buy the lowest cost one first and then the higher priced one.

I agree as a fellow Canadian, but these deals were too good to pass.

Thanks Bruce,
I just wanted to be sure. (Sometimes I am a little dense)

I upgraded to Portfolio standard at a very good discount, then checked other denominational base packages to burn up my bday coupon and ended up getting Messianic Gold, Anglican Gold and Pentecostal & Charismatic Gold.
Dynamic pricing sure makes all the difference! I don’t think there’s been a 30% off offer since L8 came out, I might look at another BP before the sale is over 👍😁👌

I have bought a few of the lower-level base packages during the sale and generally, the advice given here is accurate. Except for my last purchase. I bought a starter and bronze package individually and paid 88 cents more than had I bought bronze straight up. That said, if I buy silver, I will save $21.38 from the price for silver I was quoted before I made the other two purchases.

I just stumbled across a great deal. I've been looking at The Bible Speaks Today OT (I already have the NT). It was suggested that it is included in Anglican Silver. I was able to get BST OT & NT for EVERYONE for what I think is a Phenomenal price

Do you know if it works the same way for the Feature Upgrades? (Going Starter -> Bronze -> Full)

I don’t know. You’d have to try it and share how much you saved.

There are so many great deals in these upgrade packages. I just purchased two more today. For a total of $22.44 which included 61 resources. That works out to $.37 cents per book. In addition, many of them were resources that I'm quite interested in.
If you have not checked these out, do so soon before the sale goes away.

This is really interesting, thanks Bruce.
Out of interest, is there anyway to calculate the savings on the next tier up? ie. if I purchase bronze how much will then save on silver?
cheers, Liam

I have only been able to calculate the savings after I purchased the tiers I wanted. Here is my last example:
- Starter: My price $12.47 (paid $12.47)
- Bronze: My price 32.23 before I purchased Starter (paid $20.64) -- Notice here I actually paid 88 cents MORE than if had I bought bronze first.
- Silver: My price $115.70 before I purchased Starter (paid $61.22)
I saved $21.37 buying each one at a time. Had I bought Bronze first I would have saved $22.45.

As Bill said, I don't think there is a way but it would be nice if there was.
Tell us what you decided to do in the end.

I believe talking to a sales rep is the only way, they have methods not available to us.

I was pleasantly surprised also! I picked up the Lutheran Bronze package that had the Bible Knowledge Background Commentary (general editor Craig Evans) and the rest of the Annotated Luther series from Fortress (an excellent series!), plus about 25 other decent titles for under $15!
If you've heavily invested in Logos over the years, shopping through the Denominational packages is a great way to pick up a few books at super price.
