About to order - How much Storage space do you have for Platinum & Academic Pro?
Hi, All!
I know Logos says the minimum recommended storage is 60 GB for each package, but (so I can work offline if needed) if I download all resources of the Platinum or Academic Pro libraries, how much will I need? I'm wondering if I need to price a new computer/laptop into my purchase of Logos 8.
Any help or redirection to an answer is helpful (I asked Logos, but they didn't answer the question & gave me the 60 GB number).
Thanks in advance!
Mark

Shalom Mark!
The answer to your question obviously also depends on the number of resources that you already own. My own Logos folder is about 100 GB but the number of base packages that I have bought over the years is also higher than just Platinum & Academic Pro.

I consider a 256 GB drive to be a minimum requirement for users with large libraries.

How much free space is on your drive? Is it an SSD? Do you know how to reduce the clutter of unnecessary system files, particularly on Windows?

Concur: my purchased library includes Collector's Edition plus more so my Resources folder is ~100 GB, which uses 124 GB on Windows 10 Pro and 134 GB on macOS 10.15.4 (so NTFS consumes about 8 % less space than APFS). Also need adequate free space for duplication of Library Index during merging of indexes so practical minimum storage on macOS for my Logos installation is 160 GB.

Assuming I looked in the right place, my Library (including the resources listed in my sig) is 36.1 gb. It's about 4800 resources.

- Get CCleaner app (free) for regular clean of app and common system files
- Disk Cleanup (type in Windows Search menu) ---> in your Admin account
- select items and OK
- next time, select "Clean up system files" and repeat selection ("Windows update cleanup" is 7+GB)
- Select Recycle Bin on Desktop and "Empty" from its Tools menu
- Control Panel > System > System Protection and delete Restore Points
