Bug: audio book on Desktop not working

I'm unable to play audio (only) on my desktop. Everything works fine when I use my Samsung Mobile App. With my desktop, I can play Mobile Ed with sound and Read Aloud bibles, but I can't get audio resources to play. I played ED121 and the sound was fine, but when I try to play the audio file of ED121, it won't play even if it's been downloaded.

One of the logs show that I'm missing Windows file d3dx9_43.dll
a directx file

This is supposed to be my DirectX 12 package
I did a search in the document, but couldn't find d3dx9_43.dll

Robert's question:
Tried any of the fixes such as outlined at this site?
https://windowsreport.com/fix-d3dx9_43-dll/
Since Bradley is already working on a Logos solution and I have a smartphone work around, I didn't want to mess with Windows. I considered it and it does look straightforward, but I'll wait to see what Logos does.

The first fix in that article (installing the End-User Runtime) is what I'd suggest trying: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
Note that this is a very old installer (IIRC) so you may need to right-click and run it as Admin to get it to install properly.

Not what I expected, but I like that it doesn't mess with Windows. It's legacy pre-Windows 10. I'll give it a go.
Update: I installed without Admin and the installation went without a hitch. I rebooted and played an ME course with audio, it worked OK as it should. I then tried to play the audio file of the ME, the controls appeared and the bar moved as it should, but no sound came out, even with the volume controls all the way up. I then tried an audio book and it worked perfectly.
Any idea why I don't get any sound from an ME course audio file? Bradley, would you please try that? I consider this bug fixed and I'll play around with the ME audio file problem.
I appreciate Bradley getting involved and coming up with an easy fix. I also want to thank JT helping me through all of this as it was the first time I tried playing an audio book on a desktop and had no idea what I was doing or what to expect.

Bradley, it's kind of hit and miss. These play OK:

No sound from these, even though the bar progresses:

Would you please try these or others to see what your results are?

Wow, that was interesting. I looked at my sound conrols and Spatial sound was turned on. I turned it off and everything works now, even the ME audio files. Once I turned it off, I can't turn it back on. But that's OK. I don't even know what it is, I'll have to check it out.
All is well, thanks everyone.
