BUG? - Linked Bibles not working

I have been experiencing this for some time.  I have a layout set with a number of linked Bibles and commentaries.  However, when I select a passage, not all of the linked Bibles go to the selected passage.

Needless to say, this is quite frustrating.

I will attach a few screenshots below showing this behaviour.

Try turning off (NO) Show Auto and Favorite Bookmarks + Show Search Bookmarks in Program Settings.

Otherwise, try reducing the number of resources in a link set. You can use Parallel Resource sets in the Toolbar to switch to alternative Commentaries or Bibles.

This did not solve the problem.

So there is a limit to the number of resource that can be linked and still work properly?

What is the maximum number of resources that can be linked before they malfunction?

I consider this a bug because I never experienced this in any prior version of Logos.  This is strictly a Logos 8 problem.

There is no known maximum for a link set, and you have every right to consider it a bug. I was asking if you decouple some resources from link set A, when it would begin working properly.

Are the Bibles linked not only to themselves but to the commentaries? If so, I have experienced your "bug" and always been able to trace it to a commentary lacking an entry (or sometimes only missing a milestone) that lacked the intended target so went to the next target.  Items positioned after the "error" appeared a bit random between the (now) two targets.

This as I experience it is not a bug but rather a logical consequence of the differences between resources. I "solve" it by using Parallel Passages or Multi-resource view when I'm using a resource that frequently creates the issue.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I'm not sure why this would not be considered a bug, given that I never experienced this in prior versions.

If I am in a particular verse (1 Cor 8:3) in a paricular translation (CEB) and then click on another linked translation (NIV), why would some other resource  interfere with the linking and cause the NIV to display 1 Cor 8:3 in the reference line but actually show 1 Cor 9:12 in the text.

How is this a logical consequence of some other (and as yet for me, undiscovered) resource?

Think of books with these entries - all linked together with equal "authority" over position - this is ultra-simplificed

    Resource A: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7

    Resource B: 1,2,4,6,7

    Resource C: 1,2,3,4,5,7

Start with all of them setting on verse 1:

Move resource C to 2:  C causes A to move to 2: Either C or A can be the cause B moving to 2.

Move resource A to 3: A causes B to move to 4 because there is no 3; Does C move to 3 because of A or to 4 because of B?

This problem occurs most frequently in Commentaries but if one knows the right verses to pick, one can make it happen in Bibles.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Your ultra-simplified example doesn't really describe what is happening to me as I am experiencing this in moving between linked Bibles.

To go back to a real life example...

I am looking at 1 Cor 8:3 in the CEB and then click on the NIV, what causes the NIV to display 1 Cor 8:3 in the reference line but actually show 1 Cor 9:12 in the text?  I did have the NICNT commentary on 1 Cor open at the time but that should not be causing the problem as it linked properly.

I do not have the NICNT for testing. However, with the Bible you mention on the passage you mention I cannot repeat your problem. They work correctly for me. I'm not sure that I can help further as I would have to verify that there is no other linkage that can be setting it off, no indexing error, ...

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Have you tried to simplify your linksets? Going about it systematically may reveal a problem resource, or could just lead to a working setup.
