BUG ? -- Reading Plans are not showing up/working in L8 but are showing up in App
Hello!
I have a problem and unfortunately when I try searching the forum I receive an error message.
But this isn't the original problem
...so here it is. If I create a reading plan with a book (e.g. "Awe" by Tripp) I can generate a plan on Logos, but it does not seem to actually work in Logos (but may actually "work" in the Android App).
OR if someone else creates a reading plan and shares it via Faithlife Groups, I can "Activate" it and "Connect" with it, but when I look at it via the main program platform the plan isn't really "working" on the L8 platform. It will be more interactive via the Android mobile app, though (whether it is fully functional there either is not 100% certain).
When I click on the reading plan I also see a message that says "Group Information is not available when working offline." But I am connected to the internet, so that adds to the confusion too.
When I open the resource that I have the reading plan setup on, I do not see the typical "markers" for the reading plan (i.e. "start reading" "stop reading").
When I open the Android mobile app there is a little more interaction with the Reading Plan document -- I can click on the hyperlink to get to the next reading (though there is not the typical check mark list I am used to on the mobile app...not sure if there should be a listing of the broken down book / reading plan seen on the mobile app). When I click on the hyperlink I get to the section I'm wanting to read, then also see the "Start" and "Finish" markers. So for the mobile App there is some thumbs up (?).
Any thoughts? Is it because this resource ("Awe") is a Vyrso book?

To see the markers I think you have to turn the Reading Plan on under Visual Filters. Have you tried that?
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I've just set up the same plan as a test and it correctly shows reading markers for me - so its nothing to do with the fact it is an eBook (which I saw was one of your questions above).
It wasn't clear to me from your description whether you only see this problem with the group-shared document or if you get the same problem if you create the reading plan locally just for you.
Please clarify / advise

Hi Graham!
I had created a plan on my end and then tried sharing to another group to see if I could replicate the problem. It was happening there too....but then I deleted the plan I generated. LOL
I just created a new one for myself now, which looks good on my side. I'm going to try sharing it with the group and see what happens.

Here's the link for where I could share it: https://faithlife.com/brave-daily-reading-group/documents
Let's see what others can see and if they can interact w/it.
On my side both L8 on PC and Android App look like they're good.

I think I see the issue a bit clearer (and maybe it's a bug): it seems this reading plan document is broken. I connected to the group and activated the Reading Plan for myself and saw the same things as you, including the erroneous message about working offline, and no list of days with readings and checkboxes. The Plan also didn't appear on my Logos homepage. I looked at the plan in documents.logos.com - it simply said it had no open readings. I duplicated the plan into a private copy, but this looked exactly the same. I wondered about that - has the original plan ever contained those? Or was it somehow unfinished when shared to the group? Either way: when I changed the start date of my private copy from "Tuesday" to yesterday, it populated the list in the Logos document. I changed it back to Tuesday and now it looks like it should (well).
The problem with shared Reading Plans is that you can't change them afterwards - either this one was shared incomplete or something else happened to it. So probably Jason or someone else needs to share a working version of it with the group.
(No clue why the mobile version seems to be working for you. Maybe it doesn't work with the generated readings but computes the plan itself).
Have joy in the Lord!

Thanks, NB!
Glad to hear I'm not too crazy...LOL
Could you verify the plan I generated is working?

This one seems to work fine (and the strange message about group info working offline seems unrelated):
Reading the first pages (front matter) worked, the plan is on my home page and the reading indicators appear as they should:

Excellent!! I'm going to have the original creator of the plan try creating it again. Not sure the method he had created it, but wondering if origination of the reading plan had something to do with it (i.e. created via mobile platform vs creating successfully via L8 full versions).

So...after further discussion, it may be an issue where the reading plan was setup through the mobile app and that is where the problem is starting and generating from?.
