Update Resources never finds anything
I'm wondering what the magic trick is to get "update resources" to find the new resource that I purchased. I have the receipt so I know the transaction went through and I can open the resource in a web browser though, the resource isn't the problem, I'm sure because this happens every time I have tried it. When I run "update resources," I'm told "No updates available" and No updates were found."
Does it ever work? Has the command changed? Or is it just me?
I'm running Logos 8.13.0.0008 on a MacBook Pro running Mojave 10.14.6
UPDATE: I closed Logos and re-opened it and now the resource has magically appeared. But why do I have to do that? Why have a command if the command isn't going to work?

How long are you allowing for the license to get processed through before you try update now? I have noticed that the amount of time varies more than it used to and have simply assumed it had to do with new resources being released.

Do you have Download New Resources = YES in Program Settings? You should then get a download notification, else it will "magically appear" in Library. Sorting Library by Last Updated will allow it appear at the top of the list.

Thanks for replying. I do have that set to "YES" and I know how to sort the library and search the library to find things. The problem was not that I couldn't find it but that it was not there.

I was not taking this into consideration but this also was not a new release. The book was available to me on the web app but the app on my Mac would not update. If it was a licensing issue wouldn't that have prevented me from accessing it on the web, too?

Just muddy-ing the waters, I used to have that problem. Repeated downloads, re-starts etc. I solved it by taking the software off-line (toss the baby out with the bathwater).
But toward the end, it looked like the issue was on the library side (desktop). The library was doing stuff (slowly), the server would ask, and whatever got a no, got a download one more time.
The mobile app used to be similar ... if you didn't wait for the library to 'finish', you didn't get your book. They fixed that ... works great now.

Which specific book?

Do you know that you own the resource? When did you acquire it? Did you check to see if it was "in the cloud" first?

Thanks for responding JT. The book is John Walvoord's commentary on Revelation.
The rest of your questions are answered in my original post: I got a receipt, I acquired it that day. I could read it online when it still wasn't in my library.

Can you show us a screenshot of you searching for "Walvoord" in your library?

I can, but it would show the book because the problem is now resolved.
I appreciate your trying to help but did you actually read my post before replying?

I did. Every word. I didn’t go back and re-read every word.
what turned out to be the problem?

Okay. I was wondering because you asked numerous questions that were already answered in my original post or in the update which was there before you first responded.
To answer this question, I have no idea what the problem was. As I said in the update to the original post, I restarted Logos and the book was there.
Thanks for trying to help.

Very fair on your part.
For his part, JT is very used to trying to help people on the forums whose descriptions of problems they've encountered and other relevant facts are inaccurate for reasons other than dishonesty.
