How do I get rid or make sense of....

Bought a basic package on offer for $49. At the moment, navigating all seems a bit of a mess. When opening a new pane on the + button it shows a jumble of stuff including lots of factbook stuff I have been browsing and trying out. Is there a way to order this, delete items, see what a factbook search topic is without having to open etc? Also, is there a way to open a bible in the new tab without it defaulting to the right hand pane? Thanks.

Suggest creating a Shortcut for Bible: In the command box, enter a Bible Abbreviation (OR Name). From the drop-down list, drag Open The Bible to create a shortcut
To Open Bible, drag shortcut to desired location: e.g. left hand pane:
FYI: my favorite Logo/Verbum feature is Visual Filter highlighting so can "see" range of Greek verbal expression. Logos Wiki has => Examples of visual filters

Can clear out recently viewed items by clearing History (Tools menu has History) then open a new tab using +
Factbook has lots of searchable items: e.g.
For Factbook, content depends on Library resources: e.g. adding more photo resources increases media results, Journal section appears when have relevant Journals in downloaded Library, ... Factbook for a Preaching Theme can include Preaching Resources, Sermon Archive (as can Factbook for Preachers whose sermons are in your library along with more sections: Letters, Quotes, Works, ...)

Clearing history and shortcuts worked great. The wiki free book links also appreciated although I'm pretty sure with my basic package I'll not get to utilising that visual filter.
I do have another 'tab' query though. Opening the next tab defaults to the bible verse position of the first tab with relevant resources. It also includes Atlas and Programme even though I haven't opened those. Opening a 3rd tab is a bit odd. In the split pane it shows a Document icon then a list under Tools, Documents and Guides. Document icon at top opens Notes whilst the Document list has other items. The Guides list has many duplications or even triple entries for the same items. There are three for Interactives, Journals, Media Collections and Media Resources. Tab 2 pic shows some of the double entries but there are more. Is this a glitch or a peculiarity to Logos?

The contents of the New Tab panel are dependent on which panel was active when you clicked the new tab button.
The duplicate guides are likely single-section Guides that can be used with different types of keys (see how those same guides show up in multiple places in the Guides menu).

Aha..Yes, I can see now that the split panel is a summary of what is in the Guides listing. Media Collection, for example, is listed under three groups hence the three entries in the side panel. Makes sense. Thanks.
One observation I would make is that the side panel lists do not tell you which is which unless you open them. As there is no 'back' button if it is the wrong one you have to open a new tab to start again. Or better still go to the main Guide option at the top to start with. It seems to me a mouse hover function as occurs in other areas of Logos would solve the problem.
I've moved over from Olivetree, which is a lot more intuitive, has more right click functions to open linked passages/references in floating windows and is more user friendly and readable. However, OT lacks the capabilities of Logos hence why I'm onboard albeit with the more basic version so far. Hence, at the moment, Logos seems somewhat clunky and not very user friendly or intuitive in some basic functionalities.

I have been using Logos for years and if I switched to Olivetree I could say the same thing about lack of right click functions and intuitiveness until I know the program better.

Since you are a new user, may I ask why you have started with a page that is uncommon in regular use? I would suggest that the best place to start is working to understand the options on a Bible panel ... and how you navigate from there. It's been a long time since I watch them, but I think that is where the videos designed to introduce users to Logos begin. Or you could start by telling the forum how you expect to be using Logos and getting user recommendations as to where to start.
But best of luck - put a bit of effort into learning Logos and you'll get lots in return.

Yes, for me, maybe 9 years or so.
Just curious, I tried it with my L7. It displays covers for my most recent resources ... which are all already open. Maybe just in case. The dictionary one seems good ... which dictionaries have a matching headword. Bibles was zillions of choices. L8 seems to have outdone itself with unusability, looking at the OP's screens.

I just plain don't open new tabs at all, unless as a mistake or out of curiosity ("What happens when I do this these days?").
Opening a new tab never ever makes sense to me for the purpose of accomplishing anything at all, ever.

I open the tabs because if I clicked on other resources they sometimes replace the content of the tab I was on. As Logos doesn't have a 'back' function for these instances, I opened another tab and used their 'link' feature. Which I learned from one of the 'how to' type vids. This link feature is present in Olive Tree so I'm used to the feature.
It was whilst following the link video and then playing around with Logos that I found all the above mentioned 'challenges'!

I'm actually used to using floating windows in Olive Tree and the tab functionality when I tried out Accordance before coming to Logos. What I found with when opening new resources was that they would either replace the existing screen or open a new tab somewhere and, often times, re-align the whole screen. Which would then mean re-appraising myself with the layout. Sometimes, it would still cause my main tab to change resource or do something strange. So, out of experiene I tend to navigate software to try and get a sense of how it all works in its basic user experience.
