Search on the iphone app baffles me

Concorance search for Bible texts works well on my iPhone app.

But I frequently want to search the Works of John Wesley, being a renegade Methodist preacher.  This used to work well on my iPhone, but it has not for a while now.

I go to "Search", and I enter a word or phrase that I want to search in Wesley's Works.  Where the Search page says, "Entire Library", I change it to "John Wesley's Works", which is one of my collections.  I hit search, and the app searches my Bibles, not "John Wesley's Works".

So, what do I not understand?  Can we not do a basic search on the iPhone now?  What happened?

Over the last 25 years, I have grown old and apparently confused, using Logos Bible Software - and a beard as well.

Thanks

Mike Childs

Well, I tried the Logos app's search for the first time on ios, and ia basic search worked as advertised. Tried a book, and a collection. I don't have a beard, though (smiling).

Basic search used to work for me on my iPhone, but it definitely does not work now.  Perhaps, I should uninstall the Logos Bible App, and install it again.  I will try that.

No, deleting and reinstalling the App did not fix it.

Still doesn't work  And the problem is not just with Wesley's Works.  I tried with my Luther Collection and my Spurgeon Collection.  Same problem.  It only searches Bibles, no matter what I ask it to search.

I guess the next step is technical support to find out what I am doing wrong.

I did not used to have this problem.  Maybe it is the beard?

I did not used to have this problem.

Hey Michael, I confess I haven't used it in a while, but I do remember it used to have little slide button so we could choose "basic" or "Bible."  No longer see that.  I noticed when I tried to search a name like Augustine in a specific resource, it pulls up relevant sections from that resource.  However, when I switched to my "Church History" collection, it forces a "Bible" type of "range." ("New Testament" or whatever) and I only have that range.  Perhaps a power user will know what we are doing wrong, but at this point it is a mystery.  I'm going to play around with it for a while and see what I can find on the website or wiki...have you looked into it yet?

I don't have those collections, but I am wondering if those collections have been set up with an underlying bible reference type or something.  when I went back to search Wesley and chose collections like "Systematic Theology" or "Worship" then relevant works populated. However, when I tried "Church History" or "Illustrations" it went in to Bible mode.  I'm guessing there is an underlying issue, I just don't know what that is off the top of my head.

I haven't gone through this thread all the way, but there may be some clues for you, Michael.  I am sorry, I'm on-call right now and can't go through it all for you.  It has got to be something with how your collections are set up, I am thinking. (mine as well)

    Michael,

I am sorry to hear that you have been having this problem.

    Please do the following:
    1. Open the app.
    2. Tap the Menu icon (has three horizontal lines).
    3. Tap Help.
    4. Press "Report a Problem"
    5. A pre-addressed email will open with a log file attached automatically. Press "Send" to send your report.

We can then look into this further.

I noticed the same issue.  I have a collection created for Church Fathers and typing "Augustine" gave me a Bible Search.  Not all that helpful to me.  I am on the Beta version.

Was there a resolution to this? Really quite annoying
