we who are using 4.0b don't have the full screen RI yet. [:)]

although i am looking forward to it! i am hoping we will have both. The current one only allows me to see just a few words at a time. With L3 i could look at a whole verse at a time.

Edit: this feature is still in 4.0c Beta

I was never the fan of L3 the way I am a fan of L4. When it updated lately, I opened the interlinear the new way (which I guess is really the old way) but do not like it nearly as well. So all of my layouts stayed the same.

And it's going to increase the development time for any future features that apply to Bible text windows, because they'll have to test thoroughly to make sure they don't break full screen interlinears.

But I still think it was a worthwhile feature to ask for. I might not have put a priority on it ahead of printing and PBB, but well, there it is. We've got it.

Yep its what we screamed for [me especially] during the original beta..

I actually like the combi method, though my bizzare markup has caused a few issues.

The screen does look "busy". I think that it comes from the word spacing being proportional, so words with shorter interlinear display information tend to bunch together.

I believe that, in order to make it more readable/usable, the word spacing will need to be changed to monospace (equal distance between each word) when interlinear information is displayed.

The short answer is YES.

I do prefer the "old style" but th eoption to have either is a good solution allowing some personal choice to suit study methods and perhaps eyesight as well.

Here it is with just the Surface and Manuscript lines turned on. I find the others unnecessary. I can read Greek, so I don't need the transliterations. I can see any lemma I want as well as Strong's and Louw-Nida #'s in a popup by just hovering over a word.

I haven't used it much yet, but I'm beginning to like it and think I might end up liking it better than the "interlinear at the bottom" pane. I don't like the clunky way the pane at the bottom scrolls with the text.

You can address the crampedness of the text by increasing the font size in the panel dropdown menu (move the slider over towards the right):

I know I can make all of the text bigger...but then the English is "ginormous!"

I would like two things;

1.) the ability to color diffrent language texts...that would help separate them visually.

2.) The ability to scale the separate texts (at least some) individually.

In this pic, I've scaled the Greek manuscript up some and colored it green...it's more visually separated for me and looks less cluttered...

It looks like the lines in V3 are in a different order than V4....that's one thing. I find V3 easier (from your screen shots) to absorb...

Perhaps if there is something in the V3 version that works better for ya'll, then as beta users you could post suggestions in the beta forum and hopefully Logos will implement them. i am very thankful for you beta testers! And rely on ya'll to help voice opinions which make V4 a better product (all of you have done a remarkable job and am sure that our God is guiding you), Thanks!

I do wish I could set it the way I like it and just toggle it on/off instead of clicking each thing I want displayed. It would be nice if the default button was both a button and a drop down. Click the button and all that is checked shows/goes away. Then click the down arrow to customize.

Open one of the Bibles that has it implemented so far (ESV, KJV, not sure what else).

Click the Display button to view a dropdown to turn on various lines of the interlinear.

Yes, that would be it. Also have you downloaded the new resource files too? There would have been updates to the Bible files. Here's the full list of ones that have the new full screen Interlinear capability: ESV, KJV 1900, RVR60, and LAKEAF

The beta cycle just started a week or so ago for 4.0c. We're still only on Beta 1. The previous release (4.0b) went through 12 beta releases over a period of 7 weeks before it got into Release Candidate mode and was there for another 3 weeks before it finally went gold. SO that's a total of 10 weeks. We've been told that 4.0c is likely to be a shorter beta/release cycle because it isn't as drastic a change from the previous release. So I would thus expect 4.0c to be released sometime around the end of May, give or take a week or so.
