Logos has tons of tools and even a timeline to understand so many things visually mapped out for us.
Does it or could it have a tool for better understanding festivals and appointed times? For instance, one in which all the important things we know about in the Bible could be aligned to their dates in the festival calendar.
First, a simple tool for all of the Bible's festivals. And then a tool for us to correlate further what events in the Bible happen on those dates in history.
Like could it map the last week of Christ to the calendar even though there is debate on John's presentation? (Not all dates in the timeline are agreed upon) obviously. Could it somehow adjust for a different view of the year Jesus died on the cross and still show relevant information if Jesus dies in one year or switching to a view in which he died in another proposed year?
Or how many events happen in the Bible where we are decently certain happened on a particular date?
Could I pull up on the festival calendar Yom Kippur and then see everything that happens on that very day in history related to the Bible and Jewish people possibly even Christian events? Is it possible to know when the Jubilee truly is?
Maybe I am asking too much, but to pull up in a calendar the seventh month and the tenth day of that month and then see all the events and verses of the Bible and even events within the history of God's people related to that day would be an awesome tool! So many events happen in the fall festivals it would be nice to have them mapped out visually to see how each one relates to the others.
Even the spring festival of Unleavened Bread and the special dates before and after it with Pesach and First Fruits to help map it out or lay it out to make these events easier to see visually in a tool and then when and how Pentecost ties into it as well.
Then if we could somehow overlay that on the current year like the upcoming 2021 to see it in our own time where we are in any given year as in my birthday or particular events I am familiar with occur in relation to these events. Would this not make these dates more real to us?
The payoff then would be to map the liturgical calendars of the Bible and tie it to those used in the various Church traditions today.
I mean to see the readings of the Daily Office and its prayers aligned to what we understand was going on in the Bible and the history behind its people would be fascinating.
And if an app could utilize this information to help me get into this rich tradition on a daily basis making it more concrete offering me levels of the amount of info I wish to dig into for any given day, how much would I be able to pour its content into my daily life and make these things far more relevant, fresh, and exciting?
Has anyone else asked for this?
Am I dreaming? Does someone need to pinch me and get me back to reality? Are we even close to the technology yet to make this happen? Does anyone even care?
