Another giant has passed away!

Packer's Knowing God was very influential in my life, particularly the chapter "Sons of God."
He taught an interim session course at the seminary I attended and I had the opportunity to meet and learn under him for a week. I still have my exam that he graded by hand (I regard it ike an autograph). He gave me an "A" and only wrote the words, "You think."
Requiescat in pace.
Regent College is offering four free J.I. Packer audio titles as a tribute to him, since he was a beloved longtime professor of theology there:

And here is their obituary for him:
Remembering J. I. Packer
What a wonderful man that made a huge difference in this world and in my life. I very much enjoyed taking a course with him on Puritan Theology back in the 80s. Sitting with him in his office for only 15 minutes still is fresh in my memory.
His legacy will continue!
What a giant of theology for our times. I never had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Packer personally, but I did have the pleasure of going to hear him speak on the Trinity when he came to one of our local churches here in Kingston some years ago.
Rest in peace, sir.
Thanks for the download links, Rosie! I look forward to hearing him again.
There are very few evangelicals raised in the US or Canada between 1970 and 2000 who haven't been touched in one way or another by Dr. Packer. That is quite a legacy for a man who never sought attention for himself. May he enjoy the approbation of his Lord, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Crossway Tribute
Yesterday, J. I. Packer went home to be with the Lord after 93 years of faithful service to Christ. Out of gratitude to God for the immense impact Dr. Packer had on the church, we are pleased to share a number of free resources related to Packer’s life and ministry that we hope you find helpful and encouraging, including:

Knowing God was in Logos a long time ago (from what i hear) and then it disappeared and now Logos only sells the audio. It took a bit of whining but FLEB eventually got the book back (Newer edition) into the ebooks site if anyone is interested.

Such a treasure! Thanks for sharing.
Very sad, but very happy that he is now with the Lord.
He sounds so much like Martyn-Lloyd Jones. Now they can meet once again.
Thanks be to God for such men.
