EEC Update

Again, I am patient, but getting older. I really thought when I bought this it would be finished in my lifetime even without hitting the 2019 ambition date. Still, a year goes by and nothing. I believed in Faithlife, but will never pay for something not delivered in the future.  And for the record, I don't care about the print, just the digital version I paid for.

Totally agree. If this is true, such a move would be extremely disrespectful to those of us who shelled out a ton of money almost eight years ago to preorder the entire digital commentary series. After all, we were told the entire series would already be done by the end of this year.

also check to make sure you did not get charged for it.   I received one email telling me my credit card was charged and then one telling me how to get it for free.   Sent email to customer service to get the charge reversed.

I also had an update to the James volume by Varner.  I wonder what was updated since it was pulled from production?

Lexham Press reported they pulled EEC James from publication and then told us they will find a new author. So, all the commentary being pulled from all the different publishers I have DO NOT CITE in the title, tag, and series of the resources so I do not cite them.

Daniel was recently posted for pre-order. It will be released in print and digital on March 4, 2020.

Again for now I don't care about the print, just the digital I paid for. But the take away is now we can anticipate 2 year release cycles for an EEC volume? The lack of information (when you are trying to be transparent) is staggering. But that is how I see it and my instincts usually are very good.

If they're still working on the digital version then that's fine.  However, if it is ready then it should be released.  This series was promoted as a digital version.  Here's a quote from the product page:

They once would release the digital resource when it was available, but over time they are starting to release the digital with the print versions at the same time. This is a new concept with the commentary series.  And frankly I believe why it takes so long to get a volume released because it takes time to get the print ready. Don't forget Jake once told us at the end of summer (meaning now) the digital would be ready. The digital version is probably done and waiting for the print versions to catch up to release on the same day March 4. This is a new concept with this series. 

This is not what FL sold us when signing up to this series. It was a digital series. If they are holding back digital versions just to line up with a print copy they have broken their word to us. Digital volumes should not be getting held back simply to release at same time as print. They need to clarify what is going on with this series in terms of the release of the digital versions. And should do so so this week, not in a few months time.

Jake thank you for your response, I'll take it that you are in fact releasing the digital versions as soon as they are ready to those of us who pre-ordered the set.  With a project like this there is always going to be unforeseen delays in the actual writing of volumes and due to issues in recent years with referencing not being done as well as it should have I am fine if better checking means a slightly longer writing process.  It would be most disappointing though if FL is in any way holding back digital versions when they are ready to release.  For now I'll take your word this is not happening and that FL Is honouring the original terms of the sign-up and hope that is that does change they will be transparent about that and the reasons why.

With all this talk of print editions of the EEC, I wonder if this means that the digital editions will have page numbers listed in them?

There it is. The commentary billed itself as being all digital first, which is why I am confused about all the print talk. All of us bought the digital version and that is the version we want info about.

So while my terminology might be off the idea is there. My phrase "all digital first" is 100% correct based on the product page.

Hi, Jake,  

I'm a user who has pre-ordered the EEC from the start.  I've just realized that I've missed the email a year ago to inform us that we can have a free copy of Walter Kaiser's commentary on Daniel which was originally included in the EEC series, for the email has been classified as an promotion in my Gmail which I've rarely checked on.  Is it possible that I can claim the commentary for free by now?
