I know this is an older post but I found myself adding the same thing. Screen capture didn't work because I was using 2 different computers. What I found to be the solution was to add the ndi plugin to OBS (link below) and add the presentation as an ndi source. The streaming computer then grabbed this as an ndi source and overlayed it on the stream.

Live Streaming with Proclaim?
Trying to determine if Proclaim is the right tool for the job...We live stream services, and are wanting to have the ability to overlay whatever is in being projected onto the live stream. Using OBS Studio as streaming software. What would be the easiest way to do this? Is there a way to cast the presentation directly to OBS? Or is there a browser based live viewer of the presentation that we can screen cap?
Thanks

So I'm not sure about OBS, but if it supports capturing a desktop's output then you could use that to bring Proclaim into your live stream. If it supports chroma keys or Luma keys you can then key out colors from Proclaim. You can use transparent pngs in Proclaim as your backgrounds and then when you are OnAir you can tell proclaim to fill the transparent part with green or blue for keying purposes.
This article shows some of this with dedicated hardware, but is possible with software. I have done this using Wirecast.

Is there any way that one could send hot keys to OBS from within Proclaim. I have been looking to find a way of doing this using the lighting midi feature but so far, i haven't been able to find a midi app (mac) that will let me run OBS in the background but still have it receive hotkey commands.
The goal being to add cue's to sections of the service that start / stop / transition OBS without the operator having to switch applications and manually change OBS during the service.
Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
Hello Iain,
I don't know if that's possible unfortunately. I tried to configure this http://charlie-roberts.com/midiStroke/ , and align with a hotkey in OBS, but it just didn't work for me.
Just the topic I was looking for.
We currently use VMix and Chroma keying the desktop capture of the Confidence monitor can be a hit and a miss. Is there a way to setup a third output with a transparent background for the Livestream to overlay over the video? Below are some examples of the types of things we would like to do.
Not currently, but that sounds cool! I'll bring this suggestion to the rest of the team.
Do you guys currently live stream? My church does our worship lower-thirds plus camera on the screens and the live stream. So that way we use the same slide setup for both.
And then for service we use fullscreen slides in the sanctuary plus picture-in-picture online, again utilizing one slide layout.

Yes we do. We overlay the lyrics (not lower thirds) on top of the video and as you mentioned picture-in-picture for the message.
Since we are a small church we don't display the video to the congregation hence the need for a third output with a transparent background for the livestream.
This maybe a separate topic, but since we are a multilingual church we display both the English and regional text of the song and that can be hard to position in the lower thirds
Well my son figured out how to live stream to YouTube without going through power point etc.
Open OBS Studio and capture display, (you will need two monitors).
When you go ON AIR, the second screen is captured full size to stream through OBS and you can use the key pad or your iPhone app to advance the slides.
We just tested this and it worked for us.
Just a thought,
Hey guys, I know this is an old thread but wanted to post an article I made regarding streaming with free tools which is essentially the process JB mentioned above
Plus, Proclaim supports a Foreground Only slides output in addition to the regular slides, so it is pretty easy to setup a situation where your congregation sees the slides+background, while you use Foreground only to accomplish lower-thirds for worship. All controlled with the same Proclaim.

Gotcha, currently there is not a way to change that. However, most signals show up in a bulletin and you could share that from Faithlife with whom ever.
Additionally, you could go on air with Proclaim and configure a Sign Feed to show that presentation, which you could share the link to.
Lastly, you could use OBS and YouTube from my article above and stream video/audio and slides to the web!
If you want help with any specifics feel free to let me know

Hey Jordan I saw in older comments where you said it is possible to overlay lyrics from Proclaim using OBS. Is there an article that walks you through how to do that step by step? The most recent article you posted just puts a picture in picture of the Proclaim display, right?
If it helps, I will be doing this on a Mac and I’m leaning towards using Streamlabs OBS. Thanks in advance!
Closest I could find is this one: https://support.faithlife.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007375691-Can-I-Show-Live-Video-While-I-Present-
I should throw one together real fast. In the mean time, you essentially need to decide on Chroma (green or blue) or luma (black) key. And then inside OBS when you add in Proclaim’s feed instead of positioning it Picture in picture you would right click on it then add a filter, then add a chroma or luma key.
This will let you remove the color and make the slide see through! and the you can overlay it on your video

Hello. I know I am replying to an old post but it seems the most relevant in this conversation. Is there a plan for Proclaim to support NDI in future. This would really help in capturing the output without resorting to third party options. Also, a feature to send Lower Thirds without having to change what the congregation are seeing would be really cool.
We use the foreground option, but even with three screen we´re one short. In a more normal time we use one to present to the audience, one for the confidence screen and the last one to run the program. What I really would like is an option for a "virtual screen" to send to vMix. Having a physical screen tor the foreground only is juts a hassle.
Hi,
I got this from Faithlife themselves - don't know if it helps. We looked at it and it wouldn't exactly work for us with the ATEM Mini Pro - but I see it working if I use something like OBS or vMix.
Thanks for the help. How are you using Proclaim with the ATEM Mini Pro? Right now we are using the picture-in-picture format with our live stream. But we aren't fully happy with it. We would rather use lower thirds for the live stream while keeping the full slide format for the other monitor display. But maybe it can't be done.
Currently, you would do it with one Slides output to your projectors and one output as Foreground only to your stream.
If you are using a switcher, I'd send both slides and foreground only to the switcher. Then you can position the text as lowerthirds using the fly key while your projector shows the regular slides. And then jump to slides if you need to show a video or fullscreen slide on the stream.
This would require you to format your slides such that you only have two or three lines so it looks ok as lower thirds.

We are doing it a bit differently from what Jordan has suggested but we will try that and see if it improves what we are doing. Currently, we are using two computers - one hooked up to the projector in the sanctuary - this one has the normal display settings we use.
The second is hooked up to the ATEM plus the confidence monitor and it runs a lower third template with a transparent background which we set to green using proclaim. We then use the Chroma key in the ATEM to remove the background and use it as the upstream key on the video we are shooting in the sanctuary.
The Display Setting for the ATEM is "Slides" and the setting for the second screen is "Confidence". The confidence monitor we use to display the lyrics and scriptures for those on the platform. We could have connected either computer to the confidence monitor but we just used the one for the live stream as it is the more powerful one. W|e are currently not showing any videos so this works for us, but I know the moment we want to do videos, it won't work - so that is something I am thinking of fixing.
However, I will investigate using the flying key as Jordan has proposed to see if we can switch back to one computer.
I can't raise anyone on chat support.

Sorry we never replied! The system we used to bring this beta feature to windows quickly, unfortunately, had a few show-stopping issues on the Mac side. Since there are many other more powerful solutions to stream, plus free ones like OBS, we have instead been focusing on making Proclaim work with these app.
NDI support in Proclaim will let you easily send slides to OBS and it sends true transparent video with no need to mess with chroma or luma keys.
And just to clarify, the only feature missing from make, is the live stream cues that are in beta on Windows. Other than that, live video input, NDI output, and virtual screen are available on both platforms.

Hi Matt,
The cues Jordan are found in your menu in Proclaim by going to add item and cues is toward the bottom of the floating menu that pops up, you will see cues for Livestream that are purple as well as other cues like recording cues or stage direction cues.
This article alludes to this: https://support.faithlife.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042393152-Live-Stream-from-Proclaim
Anyone else having issues with video quality when they use the proclaim live stream to YouTube beta feature? We screen capture with OBS and its gorgeous and clear, then using proclaim it's... well quite lacking. It'd be really nice for our volunteers to not have to mess with multiple programs.
We've done everything. Bought a new camera (BMD PC4k), new computer (6gb video card), proclaim seems to be the weak link.
Proclaim can be a suitable tool for your live streaming needs. To overlay the projected content onto your live stream using OBS Studio, you can follow these steps:
1. Download OBS Studio, which is your streaming software.
2. Open Proclaim and go On Air.
3. Configure YouTube settings in Proclaim.
4. Configure OBS Studio to capture the Proclaim output.
Additionally, if you're looking for a way to cast the presentation directly to OBS, you can use the NDI source feature in Proclaim and add it as a source in OBS Studio.
As for a browser-based live viewer of the presentation that you can screen cap, you can check out this link for more information about how to make a live streaming website.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions."
