MS Surface Duo and Mobile App
Watching the demo of the MS Surface Duo - their new 2-screen phone coming out next month.
Would love to see Logos support something like this. They have two screen and you can do what they call spanning. Drag an app to the middle of the two screens and it will go wide on both screens. Some apps like Kindle show up with two pages like a book. I hope Logos would support that so I could have two books open one on each screen or bible on left with notes on right.

The press briefing video showed some pretty neat stuff you can do with the Duo. I'd be interested in it if it weren't a phone. I believe they said on the video that Amazon worked with Microsoft on the Kindle app to do the spanning and such. For Faithlife, I guess it might come down to just how many of these devices sell before they modify the app.

I regularly use the Logos app adn I got a Duo last week. It does work to span across screens currently but it's not a great experience. Verse numbers and some footnotes get cut off by the hinge, and the app navigation is tricky when spanned. I really hope Faithlife updates it to support dual screens. The experience of holding a reading device like a book is really nice!

As with all Microsoft Devices, none will sell and it will be discontinued in a year. [:O]

I would love to get version 2. Still missing a free things for me to jump on this one but word is they are already working in the Duo 2 or whatever they can it. I’m hoping the update would not take too much from Logos to make it work. We note see 3 folding phones from major manufacturers so this looks like a trend and not a gimmick.

Surface Duo 2 is now out and in the hands of real users. I haven't heard of Logos updating their spanning mode on it. It works, just not perfectly. The (not ideal) work around is to make the font the right size to navigate better.
With the Z Fold selling record numbeds, this is not going away. As my eyes get older, I love the folding phones, especially with Hebrew and Greek. Having multiple books open is so valuable.

I own Samsung fold 4 and surface duo 2.
I can't make logos to work on both screens in surface duo 2.
In Samsung fold 4 it works on both screens with some problems.
Both phones don't show my sermons although I've tried everything and some of them appear but only partially.
Contacted the logos customer support but they are not helping. It is clear that they should update both phones for the logos app but they don't.
Surface duo 2 would be probably better for studying due to larger screens but logos app works only on 1 screen.
On the other hand, Samsung fold 4 is better as a phone with better camera. Stylus experience seems to be better too.

I currently own a Samsung Z Fold 4, a Surface Duo 2, and the 1st model of the Surface Duo. I just tested Logos on them. Logos works on them. The Surface Duo feels really nice to have it spanned left and right, like a book!
If you tell me more specifically what's going on, maybe I can help. What version are you running? What version of software and security are you running?
Also, Android 14 has just been released as a pretty good self-install. One thing that stands out for that version, is that we can get rid of the hinge gap at the OS level. That means information isn't missing across the physical hinge gap, if you select that option. I wonder if that's what your looking for.
When I have side by side, it's rather easy to switch from one screen to two screens. But when switching with books in Logos split top and bottom, it can be a challenge to make the commands pop up. I figured it out just by messing around a bit. Let me know how I may help.

Hi Vincent and thanks for your excellent suggestions.
Yesterday I tried again and I have found out how to use logos in 2 screens in surface duo 2. It needs to be stretched in phone screen settings to both screens and then the logos layout must be changed to 2 screens.
However, the overall experience, including software and pen, is better in Samsung fold 4 so I decided to keep Samsung and return surface duo 2. Also Samsung is a better phone, sound, camera, etc. The only thing that I would miss from duo 2 is larger screens. Maybe the next duo will be better...
Yesterday someone from Logos emailed me concerning my inability to see my sermons in samsung fold 4 and surface duo 2. I can see them in other android phones (samsung s 22 ultra and xiaomi m 11 pro), ipad, laptop, surface 7 pro and PC but not in these 2 devices for some strange reason.
I gave Logos representative permission to access my account to find out the reason but unfortunately I haven't been fixed by now. However I after reading their below answer I can have a hope that it will finally be solved after the new update:
"We believe this problem will be fixed by our 29.0.2 update, which should be released during the course of this week."

If interested the original Surface Duo can now have Windows installed, if that helps you. It's full blown Windows, not android or a mobile operation system. That way you can run it like your full computer.

Some time ago I also tried microsoft foldable phone (surface duo 2) but although it was good for Logos I didn't like it as a phone so returned.
I've been using galaxy fold 4 for Logos and the software is good and the Logos finally helped to solve the issue of sermons that were not visible. Unfortunately samsung foldable phones commonly suffer from many problems. The most common are hinge issues and screen damage. I bought refurbished one from Giffgaff (UK) with 12-month warranty and after one month I couldn't fully unfold the phone. Giffgaff refused to fix the phone. I,ve found that it is a very common problem and that samsung samsung shouldn't have sold these phones as they knew about this issue. Will never buy anything from samsung again.
Few days ago I ordered Oppo find n3 global from wanda mobile as this phone is praised everywhere. Hope this time it will work for a long time.
