In Logos 8 changing the resource text size (content scaling in program settings) don't seem to work.  I want to change the text size for all resources without having to change each resource separately.

Hoe can i do this?

I'm new to Logos, I can do this in Wordsearch.

Hi Girard - and welcome to Logos and these forums

In Logos 8 changing the resource text size (content scaling in program settings) don't seem to work.  I want to change the text size for all resources without having to change each resource separately.

I've just tried this (on Mac) and it works fine

    100% scaling

goes up to 120% scaling as expected

The tooltip does show that it doesn't apply if individual panel settings have previously been changed

Could that be causing what you are seeing?

    Welcome [:D]

Please describe what does not work, ideally with screen shot(s) (personally use JPEG image files for paper clip insert)

Apologies for being unable to replicate using 8.17 Beta 2 on macOS 10.15.6. KJV text size changed with Content Scaling change to 160 %

Program Scaling of 100 % shows in Tab text size being smaller than text inside.

    Keep Smiling [:)]

Please check the scaling slider within the resource itself - click the three dots icon at the top-right of the resource

If it is anything other than the default setting (third marker from the left), the software assumes you have set the scaling explicitly and does not follow any program level scaling changes

    Hi,

Yes I'm aware of that where I can change each resource.
However what I'm trying to do is set the font size globally so I don't have to do it every time a new resource is opened.

The content scaling in program settings seems like it should do what i want but it doesn't work for me.

In Wordsearch I set my font size once and every resource uses the font size i've set.

I didn't know that. I sort of assumed it was additive (or subtractive). I have my global set to miniature to get the hebrew/aramaic down to small-panel usability (font-sizing is limited). Which means I re-set everyone else back up.

Girard, are you looking at resources you already changed ... which the global won't impact?

I've set all my resources to the default / original font setting.  I then try to change the font size from program settings  > resource scaling however when I change the setting from 100% to 120% the only fonts that change are in the program settings panel no other resources change.

Please post a screenshot showing the slider bar for one of the resources in question

Ok, I've been playing with the settings and I can better describe what is happening.

So all my resources are set to the default font setting with the slide bar.

    i Open a new resource

I go to program settings and change the content scaling from 100% (default) to 120%

The text size in the open resource changes

I close the resource and the font size goes back to the original size.

In program settings the content scaling is still set to 120% so I think the resource that changed in the syeps above and any new resource opened should use the 120% setting in content scaling but it doesn't.

I didn't do screen shots for each step because that would be a lot of screenshots.

    Thanks for outlining those steps

In program settings the content scaling is still set to 120% so I think the resource that changed in the syeps above and any new resource opened should use the 120% setting in content scaling but it doesn't.

I think you are saying that, when you have a resource open, changing the scaling in Program Settings changes the scaling in the resource.

But when you open a resource, it opens to the default scaling and doesn't honour that set in Program Settings.

    Am I understanding you correctly?

If so, I do not understand why it is behaving this way - I get very different behaviour (when I open a resource it opens to the scaling set in Program Settings)

What platform are you running on - and what version of Logos 8 software are you using?

Yes, that is what is happening.

I am on Windows 10 version 2004  and Logos 8.16.0.0002 Basic feature set.
