Books show in Library but will not download

Most of my library from Wordsearch is showing as available in Logos but will not download. When I click on an individual the app tells me I do not have licence permission. I am especially wanting my IVP New Testament Commentary series, Barclay's Daily Study Bible, NIV Application commentary and Bible Speaks Today

Welcome to the forums Michael. Have you tried the command "update now" in the command box? If that does not work use "update resources" (this command forces the software to check your license with the Faithlife servers. This will take a while)

Are you aware of https://blog.wordsearchbible.com/2020/09/24/9-reasons-you-might-not-see-your-books-yet-and-what-to-do-about-it/ ? Can I ask where is it "showing as available"? Available on the Logos servers and available in your library would be very different situations.

I had that problem one day, but the next day I could download everything. Perhaps waiting a few hours / until tomorrow will solve the problem?

Thanks for your reply. I hope you're right. Each time I log on I use "update Resources" but stil no sign of the books appearing. I will leave it a few days and hope that there is a hold up which will right itself

Hi David - I am not sure what has happened to my first reply to you. Yes, I used the link and it showed most of my books as available in my library. From that link I could download the books directly but when I clicked on the link to download them into Logos I was told I didn't have the licence to view the resource.

Sorry but I don't quite understand.

When you download the books directly where do you download them to?

How is this different to downloading them into Logos?

Are you able to view any of your books in the Logos web app (https://app.logos.com/), and it's just the desktop version of Logos 8 that doesn't work? Or are they unavailable in the web app, too?

To answer you both - my previous answer was imprecise. I can read the books in the Logos web app but it is when I try and download them to Logos 8 on my laptop that I am unable to do it.

Bradley can give more precise response, but I know it is frustrating waiting when something doesn't do what we expect. My first suggestion would be to log out of the L8 desktop application and log back in making sure to use the same email and password that you use in the Web App.

I struggled to log out of L8 so thought the easiest thing was to uninstall and install it again. In doing so I discovered that, although I am registered with Faithlife under my usual email address, my L8 account was registered under an old email I no longer use. So I now understand why I was having problems. I now have Logos 8 with my Wordsearch books but have lost my Logos books. I have contacted cs@logos.com with both email addresses, so hopefully they will merge my two accounts. Many thanks to everyone who replied for your help

Glad you have identified the problem - and hope the merging is sorted quickly

I struggled to log out of L8 so thought the easiest thing was to uninstall and install it again

If you need to log out again for any reason, click the icon associated with your account (top right of the screen) where you should see a Sign out option in the dropdown menu

If you have trouble getting your accounts merged, please post back here and we'll see if we can help you.

BTW, I found another account in our system with the email address mi[...]ey@googlemail.com (redacted), which also has some Wordsearch licenses on it. Since the address on the account is the same as the account you're currently using on the forums, I'll merge that one in and you may pick up some additional Wordsearch licenses you didn't even know you had. [:)]
