It seem on this latest version every time I bring up Logos it indexes for a few minutes....why?
The indexing lasts about 1 1/2 minutes....everything comes up fine I assume and have been using the system without any problems.
Here are my log files:
8105.Logos4Indexer.log
4010.Logos4Indexer.log
L4 thinks the bible index needs updating for some reason.
The way out is to type the command rebuild bible index (in Command box) - it will take about 1-2 hours.
First try deleting everything in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Pace\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\5wigtnzl.42l\DownloadManager
Deleted everything in the folder you said and still tries to index.
Then I decided to do "Reindex now" and as some else in another thread said....when I hit enter or click on the arrow the command box is automatically filled with "Search for reindex now" and brings up the search screen....cannot do "reindex now" at all.
If you noticed what I deleted above, you need to try rebuild bible index!
Ah thanks Dave...didn't notice the wording that close....that command is now working.
I am concerned that "Reindex now" does not work if it is needed or has this command been replaced with the rebulid bible index command?
With 4.0b you have two indexes and it is only the Bible index that needs rebuilding. The command for the main Library index is rebuild library index.
Rebuild index works on both indexes. See http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Commands
Dave, you are super....my problem seems to be fixed....thanks so much...
Chuck
my Logos4: when it opens the icon that usually tells about downloads says it is organising my library. I think Logos when it opens says the same. Then it says there's a problem with synchronising. It owrks very slowly when opening. After that it's OK.

That is fairly common but you can submit some logs to determine if there is a problem - see Diagnostic Logging
