when I create a note either anchored to the selection or the reference it ALWAYS appears in other resources. How do l create a note that only appears in a single resource?

Reference Anchors will show in any resource that has reference anchors. To only have it show in one resource it needs to be selected text. Can you show a screen shot with a note that has only text anchored that is showing in multiple resources?

In pic 1 below I selected "our" in ESV, then from the Context Menu I made sure "Selection our" was chosen, then clicked on "Take Note." (The note attached to "in him" is a separate unrelated note.) Then in pic 2 below you can see the note has the anchor set to "ESV". But the note appears in both NIV and NA27

Ah I see. So this has to do with Bibles that have Reverse Interlinear. You would need to turn off Corresponding Notes and Highlights in the visual filters. https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360031079891-Visual-Filter-Videos

If I do that, will it turn off all correspondence? I.e. will I lose the correspondence on the reference notes?

No because those are technically notes on both of those resources and not corresponding.
