Is it possible...

Is it possible to create a note and then have a url that points to a pdf file or another file outside of Logos but on my "C" drive?

And to go along with that --  Is it possible to create a url to a page in a pdf file?

I know the path.... "C:\Users\Owner\Documents\WORDsearch\PDF Files\SOF - Search for Truth\SFT_Lesson 1_Is there a God.pdf"  That's to a file. Could the spaces in the url be messing me up?

xn = Christan man=man -- Acts 11:26 "....and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch".

Yes, URL's in notes can be external.

Try pasting the URL into your browser - this does not work simply producing a file not found message. I have no way of knowing if the failure is an error in the URL, a security error, an encryption error ... but I suspect from the WORDsearch node it is not a straightforward native file.

I am doing something wrong. Here's what I am trying to do.

    https:\\C:\Data2\Publications & CDs\Open Bible Study\OBSLesson1.pdf

This is the error I get: c’s server IP address could not be found.

    Any suggestions?

I'm not at home to try this but,...

try a couple (or three) things.

    1st try without the "https:\\"  C:\Data2\Publications & CDs\Open Bible Study\OBSLesson1.pdf

    2nd try not https but "file:\\C:\Data2\Publications & CDs\Open Bible Study\OBSLesson1.pdf

3rd try inclosing the portion of the address with spaces in quotes like so:

    https:\\C:\Data2\"Publications & CDs"\"Open Bible Study"\OBSLesson1.pdf

No worky, I have written the path every way that path can be written and no worky.  I'm wondering if something is turned off in my system.   Thanks for the suggestions.

    No.

You can paste a web site URL into a Notes file, but even if you create a full path and filename for your local file, then create a link using that data the link will not work.

Before the redesign of Notes in Logos 7 this did work (see https://wiki.logos.com/Notes_$28ver_4.5_$26_up$29#Adding_Hyperlinks_in_your_note). I don't know if this is an intentional change or a bug, since I never used this feature. Someone else may know.

There is a suggestion I made here https://community.logos.com/forums/t/191448.aspx for installing a local webserver so you could just access the files from the notes using http://localhost/filename.pdf etc
